First time buyers. Are thinking about buying 2005 diesel Bounder with 10K miles, major dealership, extended warranty. Looked at Tiffin but expensive! Are Bounders as good as so many seem to say? Power? Ease of driving? Any other thoughts?

It's all new to us.

Thank you so much.

Bounders have a solid following on the forum. I would suggest that you pose this question as a new thread in class A since you will get a lot more feedback.

[quote=TUFAW]John D said Rob said: I hear ya John, that's why I bought an older Wanderlodge. Hey Rob Wanderlodge and Blue Birds are my all time favorites, been a member of Bluebird owners group on Yahoo for years. i love the Birds should last you forever if some fiberglass box does not run you off a cliff, I say off a cliff because if they run into you we know the outcome will be bad for him and just a small fender bender for you. Have fun John D.

We bought our first motorhome Oct. 2005 from a private individual that we did not know. It failed the first 2 inspections, has been in shop for the last 2 months and we'll be getting it back tomorrow. Where we live, there are only 2 inspection stations that inpect a vehicle over 10,000 lbs. Our mechanic, due to not being able to fit our motorhome in his bays, had to wait for good weather to work on it outside. I got the word today the motorhome is ready to pick up. So we are going to try for inspection # 3. We bought a 1989 Holiday Rambler and it looked like it was in perfect condition & ran great. The reasons it failed were exhaust leak, steering linkage, tinted windows, a 1/2 crack in the windshield I never saw, as you can see, nothing REAL major. Next used motorhome will be bought at a dealer or with inspection certificate in hand.

The above experience was exactly why we purchased from a large dealer(Lazy Days)Although their 30 day warrantee doesnt cover much as it relates to mechanical items it offer some protection.

Also due to their delivery methods I was able to meet the owner who was still on site loading up his new DP. I was able to pick his melon for a good 45 mins about the maintenance and history of the unit. The prior owner had nothing to loose by telling me that I was buying a well maintained unabused MH. He showed me the RVs maintennace log since 2002 when he purchased it.

My wife and I looked at many units in our price rance, but never had that sure feeling like we did with this one.
