Why?
Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!
The promise of better mileage and the fact that the OTR truckers are using them. If it weren't cost effective I don't think many of them would be buying.

I'm in favor of super singles and have 285/70-16E rears on a couple of Dodge Cummins 1T trucks. Those give me the same 7500lb rating as the axle (which is the same as used on dual wheel P/Us in this case). I had considerable trouble finding wheels to use with those tires though. But as noted above there are currently no singles that can replace the duals on your MH. And you'll never run enough miles with a MH to make the conversion pay even if you could get tires and wheels with a rating to match your axle.

If you get a flat, you are done. At least with duals, you can continue.

I like the idea of a second tire should one fail.
2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. My truck-driving uncle doesn't like them. He says they don't handle as well on the road and it gets worse if you happened to be on ice. He refuses to drive with super singles.

"If you have a flat you can continue." Yep, until the second one blows almost immediately afterward form being severely overloaded.

I have driven many miles on super singles, althought on a tractor trailer and I have to agree with the other posters, super singles are made by Michlin&Bridgstone,I'm pretty sure my ex-boss paid just over 1000.00 for a wheel/tire.These tires are terrible on ice&snow the tread fills up then you have superslicks! In a heavy rain they hydroplane even when fully loaded w/80000lbs.One driver had a blowout at 65mph the tire&RIM were both destroyed before he could stop, another driver had a blowout on the NJ Turnpike&sat for over 10 hours for a tire co.to find a replacment,if you have a blowout pulling a toad your MH&toad will be damaged, also I never experienced better milage&it it slowed o-60mph time considerably to the point where it was hard to accelarate into highway traffic, now I can already here the keyboards heating up,I had these tires for about 200000mi on 3 different tractors, you couldn't give them to me.
