Thinking to get one, to switch automatically to inverter in blackouts. Need only 30 A. This one by Southwire looks like an idea (they changed the name to TRC) TRC 41300 but why does it have to be that huge 8x10x14 inches? Is there anything smaller?

Are you sure you don't already have one?

Our second MH didn't have an inverter and yet it had a txfr switch. Our switch was an electromagnet that directed 120VAC energy from the hookup post or genny to those appliances. I see now that you have a 5'er...what will a txrr switch do for you?

I used this one for a replacement:
Progressive Dynamics PD5110010QV
https://www.progressivedyn.com/transfer-switches/
The 3 hot and 3 neutral connections have flexible wires with flip connectors on each end. I insert a wire, flip the lever to clamp the wire, then I wrap electrical tape around the connector to clamp the lever to insure it can’t vibrate open.

Otherwise yes if you need a full 30 amp relay in standard RV format the box is a bit bulky.

Depends on the inverter you have/buy.
Many have built in transfer switches. When an external source of 120 VAC is present, the inverter merely "passes through" that source of 120 VAC.
When no external source of 120 VAC and the inverter is ON, it "inverts" to provide 120 VAC from the batteries.

Almot, Some inverter chargers have an autoformer built in. That's the route I chose. That means the transfer to the inverter is totally seamless.
Goodbye to so many talented folks. I suspect lots may drop out after today.

Ours is an Inverter/Charger with Built-in Transfer Switch. When Shore power is avail it passes through and the Charger section kicks in to help charge the batteries. When Shore power is lost the Inverter Section kicks in and keeps everything running without missing a beat.
