BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. Read all the way because the bad experiences just keep happening. Even the CEO’s VIP team doesn’t do anything but field your complaints. They don’t do anything to fix the issues. I am recently separated from the military and receiving VA benefits I was attempting to downsize my monthly expenses and since I can’t use my RV like I use to I decided to sell it. I had a buyer lined up for my RV and he wanted to have a couple issues addressed. Camping World said I could bring it in almost immediately. I brought it May 31. I understand the fight with the warranty company to get approval takes some time, but ALLEGEDY the parts were ordered 11 July. First buyer backed out. I had to constantly call for updates. The parts that were allegedly on backorder was a Maxx air fan, onan oil pressure switch, and refrigerator gas valve. None of those are uncommon. I had some other items being done as well and I believe they ordered those part because that work was done quickly but not the three parts in question. Mid-September the parts are still not in. They said the oil pressure switch was on backorder. After getting upset the service rep had the maintenance supervisor call me. Even he said that was a common part and they get it from Cummings in San Antonio. Then the story changed. They were waiting on the gas valve. Again, common part. I called another RV place who services RVs as well. He had a couple in stock. Said they go out often. Parts didn’t get in until October. I was really upset at this point. Along this journey I left several messages for the General Manager to call me. He never returned my call. I finally saw the VIP team number and called that. No more than 2 minutes after filing a complaint with them the manager (Ricco) called. Said he never got my messages. Another issue then. Usually when I called the receptionist stated he was in a meeting. That must be the standard reply when asking to speak to him. Ricco had someone else reach out to me who was supposed to be able to address my concerns but could not answer my questions intelligently. The gentleman reached out and I instantly realized he hadn’t even taken the time to look at my case before calling. He then tried to BS his way through the conversation. He tried to blame it on the Camping World parts warehouse. Come to find out they order straight from venders. I asked why the available parts were not delivered. Couldn’t come up with an answer. I asked if they had a kill or fill order system. Again, he tried to BS his way through the answer. I don’t think he knew what that was. I then asked why they didn’t reorder the parts and leave off the one part causing back order. Again, no answer. Does Camping World not have a mandatory report that list RVs in service for over 30 days? That might bring some awareness to issues. I have read reviews of two months, but I am at four months. When they finally called to tell me everything was done and ready to pick up I attempted to open the slides to inspect the repairs. The In-Command System was now not working. It was working when I took it to them. The repair manager said electronic go out. I then found out the tech that worked on the slides identified the issue but didn’t say anything or write it up. The system is covered by my warranty and should have been replaced. They then proceeded to tell me it would be another two to three weeks depending on parts. Over this time I lost 3 buyers and now we are at the end of camping season. No one buys a camper in the fall. Unless you are looking for free storage, I would never take my RV into Camping World. Camping World stores are not independently owned and operated so there is potential that this happens at other locations as well.

So you just signed up to this site today to file yet another CW rant?

Maybe if you had done your homework re CW you would never have been in this situation.

Not just camping world. Someone will always defend the indefensible. Buyer beware. When you buy from a dealer. you buy from Shylock, as is where is. Expect nothing more.

Hi,

My local dealer has been nothing but nice. Prices are not low but the work is performed in a timely manner.

They are NOT a camping world location.

Regards, Don

Camping World = rip off. Bbeen saying it for years, the new RVer doesn't know better until it's too late and they been sucker by the BIG camping company. Marcus Lemonis doesn't have enough he needs to rip people off to keep going. Wonder why I won't ever go back? After 3 bad experiences I gave up; I'll keep it short.

1. Ordered new furniture on sale, and had to pay up front for the special order. Months later after being told it was still on a ship I get notified it's there. Price went up and they wanted to charge more, BS took the manager to fix it, told parts to load my truck.

2. blow out damage, they checked and est $1500. They talked to my insurance and took requested pictures my insurance requested. I have a $500 deductible wanted to pay it now, no we will order parts and call you it's a one day repair. Months later where are my parts? We can't order w/o money. What??? I ordered parts from another state from a dealer for the RV $250 and I did the repair in a half day.

3. Bought a Dish system and a couple months later the receiver died per Dish tech. I took it back to the same CW with all paper work says 1 year warranty, CW says nope 30 days on electronics. I call Dish back and they say BS CW is a distributor for us, three trips to CW and they finally replaced a defective unit. BTW this was two CW's in two states near the area I live.
