So, Tom and I bought a motorhome from Camping World in Fort Myers, FL, a week and a half ago and all seemed to go well during the purchase process. We had some aftermarket stuff put on, in particular, a Safe-T-Plus sway control system on both axles. Guess what they did wrong? They did install the rear one mostly correctly but totally screwed the pooch with the front bar. Not only did they put it on backward, they torqued it so badly that it sheared the bolt completely off and broke the installation bracket somewhere along the line. They also forgot to do the front end alignment, absolutely necessary prior to installing the front control system, causing the bar to be misaligned which then caused damage to the motorhome's chassis. We found this out fairly quickly and each time we've tried to call, we get ghosted. The mechanic we found who could look at it today called them for information and they answered promptly but us? Yeah, they're ignoring our calls, messages, and texts.

I don't know about the rest of you but if this location of Camping World is this atrocious about standing behind their products, it sure makes me think their entire company is like this. That's what I have to assume from now on out.

Roadmaster, on the other hand, (the manufacturer of the product we had installed) has been Johnny-on-the-Spot and is sending a whole new system, plus any extra parts necessary to repair the chassis, 2nd day FedEx at their expense. We still haven't heard back directly from CW and I doubt we will. I plan to bypass the Fort Myers location and go straight to corporate but I don't expect much from them either. I really didn't realize that Camping World didn't stand behind what they sell or even *try* to pay lip service to their customers. I don't know about the rest of you but if this is how they conduct business, I don't know how they stay in business other than via rubes like me who didn't know better. I do now.

Anyone else have horrendous experiences with them? I figure if they're screwing us over on this, causing us to have to seek emergency repairs on a *safety issue*, others might want to know this and avoid them like the plague. If one location is terrible like this, that reflects on Camping World as a whole, IMO. It also makes me wonder what else they said they'd do but apparently either didn't do or did wrong. We did have it checked out at first and it passed muster but everything started to go wrong after a couple hundred miles. Ugh.

Not sure why you went to CW to begin with. Lesson learned. But the next time you need chassis work go to Hendersons Lineup in Grants Pass, OR which isn't that far from your home town.

I have posted before about CW installing a 2nd A/C on our RV. After installing it the new A/C would not work. They said bad A/C, they would order another, come back in a week. Another 70 mile round trip. Back the next week, they pulled it in the shop, 30 minutes later said it was ready. I told the tech (different tech from first install) that he was really fast to have pulled the old one and installed a new one. He said he wasn’t told anything about a new one. He just found that the bolts had been tightened too tight, apparently twisting the frame, and the fan could not turn. He adjusted the bolts and all was fine.
I talked to the service manager about it. He just shrugged it off. No apology. No sorry about that. No admission of any error on their part. Over 10 years ago and never set foot in another CW. Was before I ever heard all the bad stories about CW.

There are two types (well 3) of service centers
Camping world has a lot of "New hires" Kids who got their mechanic's certification a very short time ago.... and some days I think in a box of Cracker Jax if you recall that old joke.

Second: Centers who have had the same mechanics for the last decade. or two.

And third.. My favorite when they can do it. Field repair types like my Rachael (Nordstrom's RV service) My RV-GIRL (The license plate on her mobile Service van) She put 3 kids through college as a mobile RV service Technician.

She is by no means the only one but she's been at it a long time.

Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Kenwood TS-2000, ICOM ID-5100, ID-51A+2, ID-880 REF030C most times

Since this isn't the FIRST post regarding this facility, why not get your **it together and figure out how to correct the faulty stuff going on here. Look at the posts...do you not read them???? How many times do people have to bash your company before you listen???
