She'll be a nice vintage camper once you address those few rot patches. Still has quite a few trips left in her, plenty more outdoor fun to come on the cheap. I respect that.

@notsobigjoe, the two jacks on the left side are still installed, plus I have 6 stabilizers with 2x6's running the full length side to side. It's remarkably stable, but I'm still busting butt to get it done as fast as I can.

Spent an hour at Home Depot trying to devise what I need to fix er up. Only thing I could not find was 3/4 crown 1/2 staples like what it's originally put together with.

I take that back, ULINE sells them, but I can't justify an almost $500 tool for one project.

I did see here
https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27553842/print/true.cfm

Where someone was doing a very similar repair as to what I'm doing, minus the staples it looks well reinforced. So I am going to do something similar but utilize stamped braces and plenty of liquid nail.

Unless someone has a suggestion on where to get the proper joint staples [emoticon]

Good on the stabilizers. There's a ton of wooden rebuild info on this site as well as travel trailer site. When I was rebuilding my coachman I utilized this site as a guest, I wasn't a member until I got my Lance. Many years ago. Bedlam is correct, your going to have to put something beefy on those corners even if they originally didn't have it. Rebuilding is different than building but I'm sure you know that. As far as my rebuild, there were three tools I had to have. A chop saw, table saw and my very first screw gun/drill combo. All you post is sound thinking and you'll be great in the end. Try not to hurry even with winter right around the corner. Sorry I can't be of anymore help it was just to long ago. I'm surprised others are not adding some posts. Say that your putting it on a Toyota tundra, you'll get all the posts in the world... LOL
Good luck, Joe

Alright everyone.

So I was browsing Craigslist last night, and I found a 2002 tundra with a 4 cylinder in it, already has a flat bed on it.
will it hold this camper? I think it'll do fine if I air the tires up just a little more...

OK where is everyone now? Haha

I am a master diesel mechanic, so I already have most major tools, and a screw gun has definitely been a game changer taking this apart. What's been a challenge is getting all the staples out without damaging the good wood and aluminum. A few have pulled through, but I believe I can reuse all the sheets. Patience is key there.

I'll mention it to my old man, he's the one helping me rebuild it. Back in the 70's he helped me grandfather build their house and garage from the ground up, plus he completely built his RV from scratch using the shell of a 2000 E450 mini bus, so his carpentry skills definitely eclipse mine.
I'll be uploading photos as I go, so far this has been a fun project.

I know you're kidding, but if you just wanted something to set it on in the driveway while you work on it the Tundra will work just fine. That is if the frame isn't totally rusted out and rotten on the Tundra...

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

All rotted wood out, repair wood all mocked up. Going to liquid nail, screw together, and reseal this morning. Took a few days off work to get it all dialed in.

Making some progress. Got one jack back on so it'll be more stable. Still need to seam seal the edges.

I hope your diesel mechanic knowledge is far superior to your basic knowledge or understanding of light duty vehicles. Especially for your customers sake.
There’s no such thing as a 4 banger tundra. And it would be too small for the camper anyways. Won’t even address if you meant a Tacoma.
