I see a lot of new RV's have the Suburban griddle included. Does anyone know if the flat surface on these can be used as a cooktop for putting a skillet on or a pot of water to boil? Wouldn't necessarily want to cook directly on the surface, Seems it would be way too messy to clean.

We use a 17" blackstone and clean up couldn't be easier. Cooks fast and large amounts at one time.
