Not sure if these have been mentioned here before. If so, my apologies.
I just stumbled on this Youtube-
ULTRA Light Weight - HIGHLY Insulated - RUGGED Off-Grid Truck Campers
The manufacturer's web site is-
https://beachroamer.com/
Not so sure about the nose but very interesting construction technique.
One big question I have is about the thermal conductivity for the aluminum frame taking heat or cold directly from outside to inside the camper.
Whaddya think?

Yes, pretty cool! It has the aerodynamics of a brick, but still cool!

I'm not a fan based on the pictures and website. The execution looks good, but unless you are a small person, I don't think the design works.
1. Tall but not tall enough to sit up in bed or standup.
2. Front window is one of the most common places for leaks in Class Cs and TCs.
3. Marker lights are also one of the most common places for leaks. I don't think they are absolutely required. Host doesn't have them on theirs.
4. Seems expensive for a very basic design, but I guess everything does any more.
Frankly, the fiberglass panel idea with square lines seems good, but I feel a popup or A-frame idea like some TTs would make more sense.

Host assumes you will carry their camper on a DRW, so you already have the center lights on the truck.

Another pipe dream "coming soon" BS operation... If you can't put units on dealer lots, you should not be advertising. People see something and want it NOW. If you can't at least facilitate SOME sales, get some units out there in the hands of the general public, NOBODY is going to place an order for "spring 2024."
Businesses that operate on pipe dreams and empty promises rarely succeed.
"Prices start at $17.500" but the least expensive model they list is $40,000... What does the $17.500 buy you, a door?

I don't believe that's the reason. None of the Hosts that I've ever seen have marker lights and that includes the smaller ones from years ago that weren't designed for DRWs including single slides and no slide models like the 2008 Lynx 8.0.
Must be some other reason.

Looks like a cheap steaming pile of ____ that someone who was just handy enough to be dangerous built in their garage…. Complete with the wtf is that kind of window doing on the front of a camper?
Maybe it’s a good thing they haven’t spent a bunch making any stock units for sale. They might end up owning multiple ugly campers….
This abomination brings up the old saying “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”

^True story.
And the $17,500 version gets you a diy shell so you can complete the remedial carpentry and electronics class and have your interior diy match the diy look on the outside….lol.
But to be fair, I’m sure there are people who’d do that. Heck there’s folks on this forum I’d put money on are thinkin it’s a good idea right now!

I agree there's a lot of things about the design I'm uncomfortable with. The blunt nose is just wrong and I'd rather have squared sides and inside storage over the tapered sides they have now. Supposedly it's to reduce sway. I dunno. Maybe in crosswinds, but then why not do the same for the part that's going to be directly into the wind most of the time?
Other than that, the basic layout looks functional and I do think they're on to something with that construction technique. I'm just not sure how well it'll work in colder climates, or hotter ones for that matter. Aluminum has great thermal transfer properties so you've just made a heat sink that has fins both inside and outside the camper, all around the camper?
