Hi folks, so I have a 2013 Canyon Cat with the jackknife sofa. It is terrible and I want to replace it. It is on a slide out so I'm concerned with the weight.

I am looking at a loveseat recliner with center console. Has anyone done this type of swap? if so, did the loveseat fit through the door opening? Should I be concerned with the added weight on the slide?

Thanks. Kids are grown so the wife and I are modifying the camper starting with this then the bunk area.

We did a similar thing quite a few years ago. Found a very nice leather, wall hugger recliner couch at Costco. The backs came off so it was an easy trip thru the door. The weight has not been a concern at all. I think just about any brand will work the same way. As long as you can get it thru the door - don't worry about the added weight in the slideout. The difference between the two is not that much and will not be a problem.

No one but you can tell you how much weight you’d be subtracting or adding. Although like Barney, I’d suspect the only issue will be getting a new sofa that fits thru the door.
