When I closed my slide there was an obstruction in the bay I now have a grey plastic piece that looks like a chain slicking out of my rig just below the slide it looks like it should have slid in along the bar for the slide any ideas how to fix it would be great

I am not sure what that might be, but I would recommend giving Newmar Customer Service a call or an email. They've helped me make sense of a few head-scratchers several times.

It sounds like the cable tray for the wiring harness which is supposed to be mounted on a swing arm. If that cable tray and or swing arm have parted ways, you need to repair/reattach/remove & replace it ASAP.
