I have needed RA once in my life, 33 years ago - and it cost me $200. I carry no coverage at all now, except with my auto ins. I'd rather take a chance at having to pay something than pay for decades and not need it. Even more to the point, I can call any tow co. in the book and they will show up and do the job. I prefer this kind of strategy to having to deal with the bureaucracy of RA co's.

Did I say Arthritis and many folks develop it at a young age. But I am sure you are aware 0f this now sport. Your education is complete. Also excuses for poor tow truck and road side service contracts are a cheap cop out macho ones.
Way to go, "sport". That'll cheer him up!

You know, roadside assistance can be a bit unpredictable. Some folks prefer handling things on their own. It's important to understand that not everyone can manage certain tasks. Finding a reliable service brings peace of mind.

I need to follow up with your comment:
MDKMDK - very true. that cheered me up!
BB TX - My Jeep Liberty blew a valve and one pulled it out between rows. Took a while, several hookups. Very good operator. One driver put her bumper against the tow truck and tried to push it out of the way. Didn't work, damaged her car. angry Karen in a post office parking lot. Plenty of spots in other rows!
Midnightsadie - lol oh man. so true!
NamMedevac 70 - lots of complaints everywhere about AAA. They have made some poor decisions.
valhalla460 - they do have everybody's address book database. What we pay for I guess. I would change my own tires but...
KD4UPL - I have changed many many dump truck and trailer tires. Owned a truck fleet. Now missing fingers and hands crooked with arthritis. I cannot turn a wrench anymore. The problem with calling for your own assistance is remote and unknown areas, usually after hours. But if I could, I sure would do it myself.
NamMedevac 70 - I'm elderly as well, Corpsman 73-78. Spent last Friday night in the hospital, respiratory arrest from massive hornet stings. Can't run anymore! Wife saved my life again. Hope she doesn't get tired of it.
Haste maker - AAA did that with my wife in eastern Washington. Oh I was upset.
MDKMDK - I will give them another chance. More concerned with my truck/camper rig than the Jeep.
ScottG - Once my contract is up, I will prolly do the same. Hi neighbor. Brier.
time2roll - cash talks, bullchips walk.
Enjoyed the comments my friends. See you all out there.

Well cyclops from Kalifornia I happen to be one of those folks with medical issues at age 76 that cannot DIY tire changes on side of the road and in heat of day with temps near 100 so you can take your squirt gun and go

I recently lost the transmission in my truck pulling a 23' tt. It was Sunday morning in San Antonio TX. The local highway Samaritans, not sure of their name there, got us off I10 to a parking lot. We contacted Coach Net and within about 2 hours the truck was loaded and trailer hooked up for transport back to the KOA we left. At 9 am Monday morning another flatbed showed up and took the truck to be fixed.
