Hello from Australia. We are renting an RV from Vancouver to Calgary btw Aug 31st - Sept 9th. A couple of questions please? Does anyone have a suggested 9 day itinerary? Also do we need to book camp sites? The problem with booking is that we don’t know how far we’ll get each day and surely most camping grounds would not be fully booked? Any assistance / advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Michael

BC is beautiful and you'll have a great trip. The route through Kamloops is popular and has lots of tourists but hopefully calling a few days ahead will get you a spot. It's been a while for us and hopefully others will have more current advice.

I would recommend taking By 1 up to Cache Creek. It follows the Fraser River canyon, the scenery is unbelievably beautiful. Stop at Hall's Gate and take the excursion down.
From Cache Creek continue on Hy1, through Kamloops to the Banff area. Just east of Field BC is To go National Park (there are a couple of rustic campgrounds) but more interesting/scenic is Takakkaw Falls.
I'm not sure if you will be able to access with your RV, vehicle length and mountain road switchbacks. Ken
From the Banff area, I would highly recommend a day trip up the Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefields.
I will try to add links to

Takakkaw Falls

Hi
Sept 1 is the start of the labour day weekend. Make reservations asap.
I prefer the route that goes past Lake Louise.
There is also a wolf sanctuary.
All in all a wonderful trip.
Regards, Don
