I’ve seen that there are ways to replace a standard gas/electric water heater with a tankless model.
My issue is that I’d like to go the other way. My Arcadia came with a factory installed tankless water heater. I thought it was a great idea (not knowing that there is a minimum flow requirement to get hot water). It’s fine when you have FHUs but a water waster when you don’t have a water hook up.
So my question is…..does anyone know how big of a project it might be to install a standard model?

Hi,
Probably there is no room.
I'd suggest adding a valve to return water to the fresh water tank until the
water has warmed up.

Another negative reason for the "latest and greatest" RV ideas: tankless water heater, Nautilus water distribution system, residential refrigerator, the solid steps that have to be stored in the trailer.

There have been a few posts on here in both directions converting to tankless and converting from tankless. It's going to come down to is there enough room behind the tankless to install a regular water heater; And are you capable of making the propane and electrical connections on the new heater?

I have done it. First make sure you have enough room for the tank. Mine had an Atwood tankless. I swapped it for an Atwood tank. The tankless was almost as deep as a tank, plus my trailer was built when tankless was pretty new and could have been ordered with either. Mine already had two switches in the control panel to turn on both gas and 120v heating sources. I did have to add a breaker and run romex to the tank heater to power the 120v element.
Also check the size of the cut out in the wall to make sure the replacement will fit.

I couldn't agree more. I swear that the accessory manufacturers sell their stupid stuff to the RV companies for pennies, just to capture market share. I'm 99% sure that not a single mfr polled their customers to see if those idiotic stairs are a good thing. I just swapped out my folding steps for Glowsteps and love them.
