Is Camping World a good place to buy a travel trailer or should you stick with the independent dealers?

If Camping World has the unit you want and the price is good, no reason not to buy from Camping World.
The deal, and this applies to ALL DEALERS, is DON’T sign the sales agreement until you are fully satisfied with price and terms, and the dealer has made all necessary repairs to the unit. This applies to new or used units.
We bought our current unit from a remote CW, using a local CW sales person . The local dealer wanted us to sign the sales agreement before seeing the unit in person. We did put a refundable deposit to hold until we could drive the 250 miles to the CW where the unit was. We didn’t sign until doing a through PDI, and got some more off the price.

We have purchased, twice, from the same CW (salesman) and been very happy. Always had time to thoroughly inspect and test all systems, and spend one night in the unit, in a local campground or on site to test and use the different systems. Any issues were addressed on site, at that time and then we took dilivery.

Not all CW locations are the same.. My daughter and good friend both purchased their new RV from the CW in Lakewood , NJ..
The sale was easy, and they were fantastic to work with.. Since the sale (2021) both have had 1 trip back for warranty work..

Each time, the trailer was there for leas than a week and all was fixed properly… You hear a TON of horror stories on here about CW, they are NOT true for all .

We've purchased from dealers twice and bought this last rig used from an individual. I'd suggest comfort with the dealer, regardless if it's Camping World or someone else. A few dollars saved may lead to headaches later. A dealer that's close to home may be worth it if you need service (versus several states away).

Look for a mobile RV service in your area. We've had good experiences with this.
