All this complaining by the OP in 2 posts….
Holy smokes.
Btw they make the right size Michelins for your truck in the whatever ones you are hung up on getting. They’re 245-75-17. Compare the sizes. Could have saved half your silly rant about tires….

My 2011 LongHorn DRW came with the POS General's. 30k a front tire delaminated and went straight to LasVegas Discount Tire ordered the Michelins and they had them installed next morning.

Over a million miles driving on Michelins I have never had a single tire issue. Only disappointment was only getting 40k on the set I mentioned on my DRW but they compensated me for that.

And it’s always fun to hear the blow hards who are stereotyped like the dad in A Christmas Story movie.
“Well if Ida known Ida made that car salesman eat those crappy tires for breakfast…”.
ROFL. First you have a 2021 model, bud. You either or got ripped off and there was no inventory or you snuck in by the skin of your teeth before the Rona inflation caused you to get a bad deal.
Either way if you “think” you got them to “throw in” different tires, you’re gullible. Either they gotcha somewhere else to make up for accommodating your tire tantrum at time of purchase, or you were so overcharged already that they could actually “throw in” new tires because they still made more $ than they do with an informed buyer.

I have used LTX AT2 tires on my lastthree trucks. They provide excellent wear work well on gravel and dirt roads Better than MS in snow

I have been saying dump NEXEN's since 2015 and sell them on CL.

I had a set of Michelins waiting to install when my factory ordered 15 LongHorn arrived. Installed the new tires at 200 miles and sold the NEXEN's for $650 first call.

The MS Michelins only lasted 40k and I received $650 to buy any tire I wanted because warranty was 60k. I bought the same, as the Manager at Discount Tire said they did have issues but they were corrected. Fast forward those Michelin's now have 67k and are still "legal" but will be getting replaced soon.

OP I have the same situation with the three tires and what is available now, not the MS2's. Stick with the OE tire size or you will be screwing with your gear ratio.

I am sure I will be buying the LTX AT2, I will post my price when I talk to my manager I mentioned.

Also get your front end aligned!!!!! Set toe to 1/64" toe in. You WILL thank me.

X2!
To both the tires and the alignment! Had outside edge wear with factory alignment . So changed the fronts early to rears, only got 47k with heavy edge wear. I changed the front alignment to 1/64 and replacements are wearing evenly..

Seems like any decent local tire shop should have been able to give you alternate sizes. You can almost always go 10mm wider than stock with no consequences.

In this case you're going from an 80 aspect ratio to a 75 so the alternate size won't be any taller than OEM.

235/80R17 and 245/75R17 are roughly the same size.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

the 235's in reality are about a 1/2" diam larger than the 245's. Not enough to worry about, since if one DID go to the 245's, the effective ratio will be lower. Potentially a bit more torque to the ground. The fronts won't have as many issues with the outer tire edge wearing quicker due to the wider and shorter sidewall. Should have better handling. At least it has on the three duallues I've had going with a wider shorter profile front, keeping the same diam rears in a higher profile.

Just to be different, look at Coopers too. The AT3 and HT have been good performers for others i know here in the PNW.

YEP!!! My alignment guy in 2012 told me the factory spec was too much at 1/4" toe and I listened to him and since I have recommended this spec.

^Confirming, dead zero toe or maybe a tiny smidge is the best for handling and tire wear.

Ya, true statements. It takes someone who has driven, wrenched on and understands trucks to believe what you’re saying. But simple math/logic “should” prevail and it should not seem unnatural for tires to wear more/quicker etc when you put the smallest skinniest tires possible on the front of the heaviest pickup out there.
But it’s become an indelible standard with dual wheel vehicles of most configurations to keep the front rims/tire the same as rear rod obvious reasons. Years ago, when this started, pickup trucks weren’t sporting 500hp, hauling 3tons and towing 10 tons all at the same time while having the ability to bury the speedo.
I wouldn’t call it a flawed design per se but rather a consideration. Just is what it is unless one spends the money to upgrade.
Nothing to do with the china bomb **** tires the OP is talking about. That’s just poor quality cheap tires. Now the OP needs to get off dead center and realize that there are a couple/few comparable sizes he can use and that he doesn’t HAVE to get Micheblows because there are many comparable quality brands out there.
