Must have had cruise at 10 over for 80mph, it's been a couple years since I've been over that way. 70 mph is correct and trucks are 65mph.

A bit of duct tape and all will be well.

Not that the class c wasn't 100% at fault but I'd like to know the relevant speeds of the vehicles. That's an 80mph speed limit in that location, iirc.

Not particularly relevant. Idiot sideswiped a semi and lost. Likely would have had a similar result at 60mph and your average MH is not crash worthy like a passenger vehicle or pickup.

Ive seen this quite often, even more so in the last 10 years. people in just about every vehicle feel the need to do 80mph! Trucks and some RVs are the worst. I even had a tour bus loaded with people pass me at what I would assume was 80-85 (I was in the right lane locked in at 70!).

I've seen (in other places) comments that the Trucker should have done something.

What.. I mean who'd a thunk the idiot in the RV would change lanes too soon.
And short of spiking the brakes what could the Trucker have done? (And spiking the brakes on a semi is not all that recommended)

Sure he could have backed off the accelerator (and likely did) but the idiot in the RV was too fast for him to avoid.

What the Semi driver DID do was maintain control of his vehicle.. Though the relative size helps him.. I suspect he was still in need of a change of underwear. I know I would have been.

^^^It would be interesting to know if the truck was accelerating or decelerating and it's speed. Usually most people have to be seriously frustrated to make those types of moves.

It's 100% the class C's fault but I'm curious what led up to the class c driver make that move.

I disagree with this statement. I have seen vehicles flying down the interstate, swerving from lane to lane, without ever being held up.

Looks like the semi in the #1 lane was passing at a small speed differential and the C was impatient. The window was closing as the C pushed through.

People do this all the time. Usually they make it or back down. Sometimes the passing vehicle that has the right of way will slow down.

I've seen that too, but this seemed different. The class c driver was 35yo w wife and their 3 kids - doesn't seem like the situation or vehicle to be doing that in.

There really weren't any vehicles that were that close behind them. I'm guessing MH driver expected the truck to pull into the right lane after he had finished passing a car(mentioned in news report) and when truck did not he lost his composure, tried to go around on the right and the left lane truck decided he wasn't going to give way.

Hence the need for more data. Again even if what I'm guessing at is true the MH driver is 100% at fault.

Not quite the same thing but some years ago a man on a stolen harley rammed a police car at an intersection... Well very low speed the officer was so startled he could not pursue but a nearby state police car and a Television news copter DID. Cameras rolling in the case of the copter.

He tried to ram the State Police car at about 45mph.. Then he laied down and went to the hospital's jail wing.
