Picked up the truck today from the Stealership. The batteries were $490 and the labor was $272. At least I'm good to go now.

That really sucks as all you had to do was have the batteries tested and go to Costco and spend around $300 for Interstate's.

Stealership is correct!!!
Darn, I got a pair for $390 just about a year ago (MOPAR)at local dealership, and installed myself in the Dealership parking lot in about 20 minutes.
How did they justify the $272 labor for a at most a 30 minute job.

It's just insane what they charge and people blindly just pay.
Were your batteries OE you just replaced? Were they causing issues or figured it was time?
Replaced mine at 4-1/2 years just to not have issues.

As a tip... I learned when camping with my friends and his Ford 6.7 power stroke batteries died...no amount of charging with a 40 amp charger or jumpstarting from my truck would turn that motor over until we disconnected the bad battery and jumped it with just the one remaining so so battery connected to my truck.
If you have one really bad battery...it may need to be disconnected to jump start truck....just my experience.

Batteries were original. Insurance covered the flatbed tow.

$175 of the $272 is what they charged to check out what was wrong. A rip.

I mean... you asked a question here, we ALL answered to check the batteries. You didn't. You took it to a dealership, used the time of a service advisor, a repair tech to drive it in and hook up diagnostic equipment, electrity, machinery, paperwork to write it up, service advisor to call you back, repair tech to drive it back in, remove and reinstall batteries, check it, fill out paperwork, drive it back out, etc.
It costs money to run a dealership. I bought new batteries a year or two ago for less than half of what you paid. You chose the most expensive route, it's really in poor taste to place the blame on the wrong entity here...
