Too bad they quit, it sure looks like a sweet set-up, but at only 17.5k GVWR, add service body, extra carried cargo weight and passengers and it might be getting close, if not over (??) - heck even my stock14k GVWR 3500 DRW diesel, 4x4 approaches 15k when fully stocked (with less!) and 2 passengers, this with a similar single slide camper…Now add a tow extension! Just saying is all….

GM makes med duty trucks still/again. And you’re better off with your new rig or a ford. They also have a taller cab. Not as tall as the old Kodiaks though.
The big detractor to using a Kodiak is height. They’re obtrusively tall for a TC application, imo. I found one years back, seemed like a good idea because it was a discount way to get a Dmax Alli cc 4x4. But after measuring heights, it would have been well over 13’ tall and almost a whole flight of stairs to get in it.

Dad paid 37 grand for an off the lot last years model Bounder some years ago. It was The most beautiful thing in the world. I drove it a couple of times and still like my TC. [emoticon] Just too big for my taste but he went everywhere in it. He doesn't remember much any more but he does remember that bounder...

Well, consider that a million bucks $$ ain’t what it use to be, then consider the actual cause of the ongoing value dilution of the dollar [emoticon], and (nowadays…) the very high unlikelihood that it’s depreciation can long term be slowed down…

I accept that this is uber counter intuitive, but at some point it may occur to some folks to spend whatever is their ‘discretionary moola’ while it still holds substantial value - especially for those fixed income folks who don’t get COLA or pay raises!!…This points to a kinda inflection point the considers the continued depreciation of money, meaning, it’s NOT that commodity cost are going up, rather it’s that the ‘true value’ of the currency keeps going down…With this in mind, sometimes deferring known future purchases may be seen as something worth avoiding…

I am calling the bluff of people like you. The idea that blowing cash today on a depreciating asset like an RV is financially prudent and somehow protects one from inflation's wrath is laughable, especially considering how house prices are now crashing. If hard assets like real estate are crashing, just imagine what's going on with paper mache boxes like RVs.

A friend decided to sell their gently used, less than 2 year old RV recently. The market is NOT what they had envisioned. The dealer they bought it from gave them a sobering quote of more than $20k less than they paid. Private party will likely be a better route - assuming there is a cash buyer or somebody qualified for a loan at the new, skyrocketing rates.

No sale yet. Not even close.

Well, consider that different folks are often at different stations in life - I prefer to see my house drop in value just to reduce future property tax increases - a rise in value goes me zero good whatsoever, but that’s just me [emoticon]

Inflation, while a monetary phenomenon, is not possible without people like you who pay the inflated prices, then try to justify it on forums like this. You are just as responsible as anybody for the outrageous prices.
