I have a Polaris 570 EPS {electronic power steering - don't buy an SXS without it}. This is the smallest SXS Polaris makes but it was the only one that would fit into my existing cargo trailer as it is only 50"wide.
It does everything the big boys do and despite have just a 570cc single cylinder motor it is way too much fun. The narrow chassis actually makes it easier to access a lot of narrow trails that are closed to the larger {wider models}. Being able to ride right out of our driveway year round it is one of my favorite toys. With the cargo trailer I can tow it behind our 24' Class C or my Honda Ridgeline. Lots of great riding areas here in central Arizona. It weighs 1,300# and gets about 25 mpg with my foot in it... as usual.
Here are few pics...
Here it is dressed out for the 4th ofJuly parade through Payson:

Don't forget to take a look at the Can-Ams.
Either way though, we've got lots of brands in our group and everyone is happy.
Are you shopping for something in particular?
* Speed
* Handling
* Price
* Comfort
* Warranty
The list goes on.
And just a thought... The RZRs are probably the most popular, but they've had warranty troubles lately and there's currently a recall and Polaris is asking owners not to drive theirs but there isn't an immediate fix. I assume the new units aren't part of the recall, but it's worth looking into. And I'm not implying that Polaris is worse than Can-Am just because there's a recall on the RZR and not on the x3.
I still like my x3 better though.
Anyway, if I were shopping today, I would be looking at used cars because a lot of people are overextended and there are a lot of stressed sellers trying to get out of the payment. Plus the used units have so many of the upgrades that you'd want (radios, whips, tuned suspension, lights, mirrors, roofs, etc.).

Toys:

- 05 Yamaha WR450
- 07 Honda CRF250X

I'm thinking about getting a UTV. Just checked saferwholesale. The choice is wide and it is hard to make the decision. Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge, guys. It seems that it is better to narrow my search to Polaris and Can-Am.

There are two reasons why, when I got the check for my "Totaled" Class A, having decided to stick with an apartment and not return to the RV life.. I went to the car dealer with my over the hill Dodge Neon that the mechanic said was about to fall apart (I think he was pessimistic) jacked up the license plate and backed a jeep up to it..
ONE: Have wanted a jeep since I was about 15 (I'm in my 70s)
TWO: That apartment is in MICHIGAN.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

I'm biased since I'm a CanAm guy, but I would add Honda to that mix. In my mind, the x3 (CanAm), RZR (Polaris), and Talon (Honda) are the main contenders. Yamaha is catching up, but I don't see very many of them on the trails.
Having just spent the weekend in our x3 though, that's the only one for me. What an amazing toy. And what a gift that we still have these open lands to explore. I can't believe how lucky we still are.

We have a 50" 900 RZR. Similar size to DC's 570. We have the narrow one because many of the fun trails in our local area are 50" trails.
We are considering a Kawasaki KRX for the wider trails and to take to Arizona as we hope to spend more time down there in the future.
All depends on what you want to do with it. Friends have Rangers and Defenders that they use for hunting often with tracks installed.

I just upgraded. I replaced my 2016 Polaris Ranger XP 900 to a Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Northstar Ultimate.
It costs as much as a new car.
Due to the way I use it at home, I wanted a machine with more amenities, namely A/C. It also has a cabin air filter for the fresh air intake for the HVAC as well as an interior cabin air filter. I won't have to sweat and eat dust when I'm out mowing my 5 acres worth of field grass multiple times in the 90 degree heat of the summer.
