Your experience was much like mine and my wife's. I'm curious at what point it ceases to be a vaccine and becomes a treatment. Based on what we are seeing now, the vaccine doesn't appear to be very effective in preventing one from getting covid, at least not the current variant, it just lessens the severity of the illness. That would seem to be more akin to a treatment rather than a vaccine.
Vaccinated, but no boosters yet. Our illness was relatively recent and our doctor has recommended no booster for another month.

I visited the Costco and Walmart stores in Chula Vista California Wednesday. I spent about 2 hours in each store.
The crowding was intense. If I had to guess I would say each store had three hundred customers. Everuone I saw was wearing a mask. Neither store took temperature or dispensed hand sanitizer which they did during the Delta infestation.
If I'm ever going to get infected (Ómicron) this was the time and place. The stores were almost impossible to navigate with that many customers. I had to wait dozens of times for someone to clear out from a display so I could grab a product.
Every register in the store was open and all of them had waiting lines of perhaps a dozen or more carts and platforms.
If I failed to get infected I will be surprised. It was that crowded for four hours solid. By Sunday evening I will have my question answered. In history if a cold or flu is circulating I'll get it. My Rx includes two steroid drugs. And I have three significant comorbidities.
The interesting part is I am inoculated with a prime boost protocol. Supposedly the strongest defense available. The primer was one jab of Chinese Sinovac, four months later a jab of 100ug Moderna then 3 months after that (Nov 15) the second 100ug of Moderna.
I'll certainly know by the end of next week. Seven plus days of incubation. I am due to be lab tested my next appt at Scripps. The second week in Feb.
My Titer on 3 Jan had a very high count of both neutralizing antibodies and T cells.
Frankly, after a year, I'm tired of the suspense.

When suffering a sore throat or and a fever correct administration of an NSAID plus acetaminophen (tylenol) is potent enough to tame the fever and the pain.
I have had spotty luck with an intense viral fight then experiencing a bacterial infection of throat, larynx and lungs. Strep throat or pneumonia. It is not at all common to be recovering from a viral infection only to sicken with an even higher fever, coughing and a tender throat. It's time to get to a doctor who can diagnose what is referred to as a "superinfection" and treat it with antibiotics.

My brother got covid 10 days ago even though he is boosted. He had it bad and almost died. He thinks he may have had the delta variant as it moved into his lungs. His doctor told him to go get a test, but he could barely walk let alone drive. He is doing better now.

I'd be curious to know what the real infection numbers are. Just in my little world, in the past month I know of 9 people who presumably had covid, but only one actually did an official test. One other did a home test that was positive. So there are 8 who are not counted in the numbers just in my immediate circle. All were in close proximity for an extended period of time and all had similar symptoms. Thankfully all were very mild cold/flu-like symptoms and all have since fully recovered. As side note, all were vaccinated and 6 of the nine had boosters within the past 2 months.

I would bet the farm that infection rates are grossly under-reported. Given that tests require almost perfect timing, many report false negatives, tests aren't available and when they are lines are around the block, and the largest contributor - to your point - is that Omicron symptoms are so mild the majority of folks (like me) don't even bother with a test. What value is a test anyway if you aren't bound for the hospital other than data? If you are sick, stay home and quarantine. I have never needed a test for that bit of common sense even before covid. (although some workplaces require them)
As a side note - again to your point - that the numbers for omicron infection of vaxxed vs non are skewed given that a large population isn't getting tested to collect that data to report an accurate conclusion. But based on what I know personally in my circle and what seems to be echoed by everyone else is that vaxxed and boosted folks are contracting at a similar rate as un vaxxed. I know BCSNOB has provided some test data to refute that, but again, I say it's skewed based on the limited availability of data to arrive at a holistic conclusion. Literally about everyone I know has contracted it and almost all are are vaxxed and boosted. That's real world. And that number is even more exacerbated by folks who are asymptomatic and we'll never know if they had it - folks married and/or living with people who have tested positive. My guess is the infection rate is much higher than the 33% reported.

Hello everyone, my experience.
I had my first corona in early 2020, I was sick for over a month, I've never been so sick in my life.
I had chest pain, fever, and the worst depression in my life. I was mentally exhausted for probably four months afterwards.
In August 2021 I took my first dose of Pfizer.
It went away easy. Sore arm for a couple of days, body aches for a day.
I took the second dose and was sick for a week, as if I had been beaten up, everything ached, I had no strength at all.
A month ago I got the **** Omicron, but it was easy.
For a week I had a sore throat, no fever, sometimes a headache, and a terrible runny nose, and my eyes were literally leaking because of the light, I even had to wear sunglasses in the house.
But all quickly passed in a week, no treatment at all, just drinking vitamin C and a lot of warm tea, and sleeping all day long.
I think if I hadn't been vaccinated, I would have been more knocked down by omicron.

We have been lucky. No one in our family or in our circle of friends has had any problems. One nephew and his wife had a mild cold-like symptoms for a few days. They tested positive for the omicron variant. Everyone else -- nothing.
We had the vaccinations and the booster. Got the seasonal flu shot. I joke I am like the family dog -- current on all my shots.
Life goes on. A face mask has become part of my EDC even though it is seldom required anymore. Every time I go out I grab my phone, glasses, keys, wallet, and mask. It is just part of the routine now.

Ditto here also Dave in terms of Nell and my daily activities.
Tennessee has been one of the worst states in terms of taking Covid seriously; and unfortunately citizens are paying for that mistake; many needlessly with their lives.
