I've not been on the forums for quite some time. I hope those who have posted about their personal experience have recovered. I am back to masking up when in public and am hoping for the booster in the next few weeks. I'm 61, overweight, diabetic and have cardiac issues that well controlled so I have comorbidities. Work was completely remote but the office is now open and I am expected two days a week with pressure to return to full time on-site. Thing is, pay was cut in half when we were sent home and there is no plan to reinstate. I think if the pay is not restored I will be asking for a layoff.

Sometimes I think I was born under a lucky star. I try to count my blessings and sweep short comings under the rug...
The latest reports by the WHO indicate México COVID-19 case numbers are plunging. ICU patient percentages are down almost 80%.
Some of this is due to strict autonomy of rural villages in the south. Virtual isolation but that's the way they've been for centuries.
Masking (cubrebocas) is still strictly observed at stores. So is distancing. And air circulation. Fans are whirring.
For whatever reason, Tijuana and across the border are still hot spots.
But starting 8 November, CBP says it will start demanding proof of full inoculation to enter the USA. I haven't read anything regarding US citizens but I am going to carry my certificates to speed things up. It might be rumor but it is said people driving up to the Customs booth without wearing a mask are far more likely to be sent to secondary inspection.
There is a lot of peer pressure to get jabbed with an American vaccine. No one I know trusts anything other than the Pfizer or Moderna jab. The Russians say the papers just sent 1.5 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine even though the virus is considered to be runaway in Russia.
That's pretty much the latest gossip from here.

Wanderer -- If you are a US citizen (with a US Passport), you will get across that border, warts and all. The one and only time in history I remember a US citizen was exiled from his country was in early 1800s, and his name was Aaron Burr who shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel (father of our US banking system).
In addition, even if you are not a US citizen, the Mexico Foreign Minister to the US has indicated that Mexico will open up communications with WHO in order to attempt to get the vaccines Mexico has been using on the WHO list. Since you live in Mexico, only you can say what the likelihood is of follow-through on that.
For you personally, you have been receiving treatment in the US for your condition. Google "United States Embassy and Consulates in Mexico Fact Sheet". On that Sheet, you will notice that you can traverse the US border in order to receive medical treatment; it is an exception to other border rules. Just show a confirmed appointment (say by e-mail) with medical staff on US side of the border. You've ALWAYS been able to do that, even before these last border rule changes. This is an important exception for non-US citizens.

The only time CBP gets wound up is when a person shows up without proof of citizenship, like I did last January with a bleeding ulcer. Even then they groused when calling an ambulance.
During the border closure, the hospital called San Ysidro and authorized the passage of my friend Pablo to come north alone and fetch me when I was discharged. He does have a border crossing card, but the border was closed then to all Mexicans except workers holding green cards. Citizens claiming "incapacides" which means disabled totally are allowed a Mexican national with a valid border crossing card. but only a single individual.
Like always this explanation is not theoretical but actually tested and proven in reality.
If the citizen declares COVID an ambulance is called right at secondary. I have a dubious record of three ambulance rides. US Customs does not screw around when a citizen declares an emergency.

By 11PM last night, my vaccinated arm was achy and my temp was up a whopping degree. LOL! This morning, arm is still achy, but that's it. Ed said the same for him.

Wanderer, you will have to explain to me what your titer count of 776 means for you personally. How much time left for you to take the Moderna vaccine as a booster? Good information revealed now that the Moderna vaccine has a longer endurance record than any other vaccine.

Doctors at Scripps and Sharps, both teaching medical centers, are stunned. This high of titer level after that length of time for a 75-year-old with multiple life-threatening autoimmune comorbidities is almost unprecedented (so they say).
After my 2nd MODERNA jab 5 November, I am looking for a period where I can forget about hoses down my throat. Next June, I intend to get a followup TITER and if it remains high, no more jabs.
I do expect to get infected. I do HOPE that it will be utterly asymptomatic. After that, que sera sera. I've done all I can.
But, I feel strongly the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA are omitting valuable public information by not even commenting on the PRIMER / BOOSTER methodology for a protocol.
Would an inverse mRNA + ADENO protocol work? I see silence. This disgusts me. Shareholder impact taints every level of our federal health system.
