After looking at some online wire diagrams of a Lance truck camper, it looks like there are the wires to power the A/C unit, which come from the breaker, and then these wires, that you can hook to the A/C if you want to have a wall mounted thermostat. I only have the wall control for the heater. The A/C doesn't have the ability to have a wall mounted thermostat, I believe, so I shouldn't need these wires. I wish I could push them back into tube farther so I don't have to clip them, but I may have to. Thanks.

These are all the wires going to my heater and A/C in my lance 1181 2006. Are these the colors your looking at. The red would probably be a 12 volt hot and the white would probably be a 110 hot. I bet the 12 volt black is wrapped up in the set of different colors. Not sure of all this just guessing. A pic would help...

RecPro comes with remote, so no thermostat wires needed.
If you have wires in the hole, try to find other end them at the circuit breaker panel. It can be loose wire hanging there, or breaker switched to off.

Photos can't be uploaded directly to the forum, they have to be hosted (uploaded) to a photo hosting site.

I'm hoping the RecPro/Houghton unit has the wires to connect to the three wires in the A/C box. From their manual, it sounds like maybe not. So I will run 12G wire from the three wires to the unit. The hang up is what to do with the one's hanging from the hatch. Thanks.

The gray wire bundle is the thermostat wire. Not all of the wires would have been used, even if the camper had been ordered with an air conditioner. That’s just the cable Lance chooses to use.
The red and white wires hanging out with the gray wire I’m betting are 12v DC, for powering a Fantastic Fan for example. The fact that the red wire is capped suggests that it may be a live circuit. You should put a meter on it and check. I’d don’t think your new air conditioner is going to need 12v.
As for what to do with those, I’m betting that once you get the new rooftop unit, you’ll find that there’s enough space around the perimeter of the ceiling cutout to stash those wires.
The three capped wires hanging out of the box are of course 115v AC for the air conditioner. The new air conditioner may have a pigtail that will reach into the ceiling box, or as you said just make your own.

Per their website their units come with a remote control, no need for a wall stat. I haven't ever heard of this company before but will be checking it out. Their Q&A section say that the units can't be wire to a wall stat since ever thing inside is line voltage.
