Unfortunately, you can't once and done it, as you'll need the number later for reverifications as the tokens expire.

I’m not sure about that, after sign-up / registration myself years ago, probably a dozen now, using an VOIP line I’ve never had them ask for a reverification again since.

If you don't have Multi-factor authentication enabled, then the need I mentioned is moot for the moment. Facebook hasn't shifted yet to mandating that it be used (though to be honest, if they did, it would likely cut down some on the amount of hacked accounts because just having the password would no longer cut it), so you likely not run into it as an issue. Its only on MFA enabled accounts that you have to have a valid number for verification.

I joined this site a long time ago now. We even used to have rallies of members and meet up kind of an up rally. It was a great place to pass around information. The posts would be 5 or 6 pages deep for 14 das. Now I come back here every so often look around and see nothing has changed and it is dying. I met a bunch of friends on here and many of those have passed too. I know I have owned 6 rvs and remodeled one of the completely and know the systems pretty well. I could do that because of the help I got here and from our FOretravel forum that is still going strong. I wills ay that the groups over on FB have a lot more activity than we have here. So I guess I will just think of the good times and realize this forum is not what it was and it is sad. Heck I even used to chat with Marcus or is assistant in the heyday too.

10 years ago forums like this one were considered the golden source for RV related topics and answers to questions. Even RV Tv had a chance to survive. Since then there is so much media readily available to answer those questions and it's a lot faster and more succinct method than coming here and getting a myriad of "loose" answers - and some negative and condescending remarks. New members never make their way here anymore because they got their answer from 6 youtube videos before this site even comes up in a search, or they get run off by condescending trolls that live here. Facebook alone isn't killing this site, it's the massive amount of more easily accessible information - and most without dealing with a lot of the rude members here. To the latter point, the rudeness, I think it's grown here because there is less RV topics to talk about. Most of the topics and questions have simply been exhausted and some people need to be jerks to amuse themselves. The topics aren't engaging anymore so some need to fuel the missing energy with toxic drama.

It's pretty obvious if you think this forum has rude/obnoxious posters, you've never read any Facebook postings. And talk about wandering off-topic!! I'm referring to Facebook postings wandering very far afield, not this thread.

I think one of the things at work is the repetitive questions, what kind of battery, tires, roof sealing, caulking, etc. And then the ones too lazy to go and google a bit for the simple things like light bulbs, fixing things where there are a heapin helping amount of video's to instruct the unsure. Arguments over how to jack up a trailer to change a tire(s).

IME, Facebook posters are notorious for posting about something they have no knowledge of. In fact they often lead off with the statement: "I'm not an expert...". There seems to be the feeling on Facebook that if you don't post frequently, even if it's on a topic you know nothing about, your account will wither and die.

Not really interested spending a whole lot of time online. When I'm online, I come over here, because topics tend to be more on topic than not, and there are zero ads...

That's actually a deliberate mechanic in how most social media works as part of the algorithm. If you do not post often and get an ever increasing amount of responses, your replies will be deprioritized or completely left undisplayed to most people viewing the thread.

Facebook became a waste of time in my opinion.
I honestly prefer to spend my time learning a new language that staring at my screen whole day long.
Now discovering for myself Norwegian language with these guys https://pickwriters.com/norwegian-translation-services.
For some reason i thought it will be much more complicated than it actually is.
