One might take a peek at pellet stoves instead. No links I recall, but we installed them in winter ski cabins in the mountains instead of woodstoves.
Pellets were easier to carry and store, less expensive, and gave off the same BTU's per fill. Been awhile, so am not up on latest info.

Look up Slim Potatohead on YouTube. He's a minimalist in a small trailer who recently had a couple videos demonstrating his pellet stove. Interesting fellow.

Thanks for all the responses. And just to re-iterate, this stove would be for my home, not the camper. I only posted here because I recall smaller stoves for campers that I thought that I saw discussed here.
That said, some more information on what I am doing:
I want a smaller stove. My living room is rather small (approx 11'-6" x 16'-0".) But the existing masonry fireplace takes up an extraordinarily large footprint. I am planning to demo it (but that is another story especially for the logistics of removing from T.O. chimney to basement.)
Removing the existing will open up the room quite a bit and I want to return some sort of smaller stove... not sure what that component will be, hence me reaching out to knowledgeable sources here. It could be one of the many types out there and I will be beginning the research of which model will best suit my needs.
This is not a summer project for this year. It will take place next summer at the earliest as I need to design and plan the phasing.
I will not be considering a pellet stove. I have many cords cut, split and seasoned with many more available where I live. Whatever replacement I use will be a wood burner.
The project is not insurmountable. I do these types of design for renovations as part of my work... the only difference on this one is that I am the Client and I am the one paying for it. It is not a DIY with the help of some friends on a weekend. It will need to be planned, staged and implemented, especially the build back with minimal downtime and exposure to the elements.

We heated one small home for ten winters with wood. A stove with a large enough firebox to hold a fire for a whole sleep but good enough draft/damping control to not overheat the space in mild weather is the goal.
Getting up in the middle of the night to add wood so the water bucket isn’t froze over in the morning is a nuisance.
Naps beside a wood stove are the best...

NO! and WhY?... A camper is not a tent, It is not a lean to....it just sounds like a really bad idea. Tiny house maybe but finding wood to burn and causing a forest fire....or having to haul wood to burn....not efficient. LPG is the way, heat, fire ring, cooking, running the jenny....come om man!!

I think a pellet stove would be far easier to install. The bonus is that they can be wall mounted, some models have tiny exhaust pipes through the wall, and can use a programmable thermostat to run at a predetermined time. We just need someone to make a small enough one. ![[emoticon]](http://www.coastresorts.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/grin.gif "grin")
Also, most states have laws against transporting wood across state lines, so that makes wood someone limiting just to find fuel.

I have seen wood stoves put in motorhomes/fivers/travel trailers and truck campers and I put an old true sheepherders stove in a 20ft TT..None were these new little stoves,just small cast iron or whatever..Wood is free and abundant around here..
I went through the top center vent with my pipe/most went out a window and a few through the roof,permanently installed..Most also were put in place via one side of the dinette set then out the window..Quick setup and tear down..
Not much room in my TC to run one up through the vent and I do not want to take out part of the dinette..I heat my house almost 100% with firewood and it's fun in the summer to go get it..
