I average four or five of those a month. All from auto charge/renewal accounts. They go away after one or two days.

GS is not alone in doing this check IMO.

Is it a "pending" or actual charge...?
Pending charges are sometimes used to just check if the card they have on file is still valid. They disappear after a day or two.

There is a 1$ charge on my card for GSE* Good Sam RV ERS and I do not know why it is there. Seems to be fraud.
