At 12880 I was 1380 over GVW

How does your truck have a mfg. rating of 12,880 GVW, when the highest rating for a Ford F-350 SRW is 11,500?

12880-11500=1380.

But 5100+8650 is not 12880.

Ask Google if you need to. [emoticon]

You must be aware that front axle weight + rear axle weight does not equal gross vehicle weight?
While the front axle weighed 5,100 and the rear axle weighed 8,650, the total vehicle weight(both axles on scale at the same time) was 13,400. With a GVWR of 11,500 the truck is over GVRW by 1,900 which isn't close to the 3,750 figure from GeoBoy.

I think you all are mixing up two different posts. Here is mine again:

Front Axle weight 5200lbs
Rear Axle weight 7680lbs
Total weight 12880

I'm 1380 over GVW but under my tire ratings. My tires are rated at 4080lbs ea so a total of 8160 on the rear putting me under them by some 480lbs.

We can argue the axle rating and the truck rating which doesn't change even if I put the cab on a F550 dually frame etc even though we all know the sticker at that point would be meaningless. So, my point is that the mods we do don't change the door sticker but do change what the truck is capable of handling and I'm ok with that.

Kinda like putting a turbo on a 150hp car and making it a 1000hp race car (ok it takes more than a turbo but the point is the same) and saying "but Ford says that mustang only has 150hp!!!!"....who cares what Ford says [emoticon] I just won the race.

Get it?

So, the tires make a difference, so too do shocks, wheels, and various other things people do. For me, I'm happy. Had a deer run out in front of me when I was pulling the mill. Luckily I was only doing 40mpgh but had no problem slowing down in time. Same trip a big rig turned in front of me at 60mph! It was close but I was able to haul all 17,000lbs + down in time to avoid nailing him.

The truck is rated for a combined weight of 23,000lbs so again, I'm ok where I am at [emoticon] and it handles the load well.

Would a dually handle it better? Sure and a Formula One car is faster than a Formula Ford too [emoticon]

Not the weight police here. front + rear can equal total or not depending on how they are positioned. My last cat weight added up.
