That's the mental image that I had.
Thanks for the confirmation.
If you want to do something, you will find a way.
If you don't, you will find an excuse.

Today was one of those days, when things didn't go quite the way I had hoped.
My plan was to clean off the steel for the drivers side, and give it 2 coats of Por 15.
It started off well, and then the weather decided to throw a monkey wrench into my plans.
I was cleaning the steel off, and about 2/3 of the way through, it started to sprinkle. That ended that.
Carried everything back inside, and watched it rain most of the rest of the day.
Por 15 does not recommend applying when the humidity is high, so I figured, I'll just wait until tomorrow.

On the bright side, if you are doing a project like this, you need one of these in your yard...... you know, for the month of December.

Anybody remember this?
Yea, this is a piece of plywood that I started coating with Por 15 a while back.

So, here it is fully coated with Por 15.

So, first thing I did was to weigh it, on our food scale.

Close up. That is 2.85 oz.

Next is to soak this in water in a plastic bag, overnight.
I want to see if it absorbs any moisture. According to their literature, it should not.
After this sits overnight, I will then throw it in the freezer, and freeze it.
Then, remove it, and let it thaw out, then re-freeze and repeat.
Por 15 is supposed to not allow any moisture through, and if some does get through, freezing it will just blow the paint right off of it.
So, we'll see.
I didn't forget about this. I posted a couple of those pics a couple of months ago, and just didn't get to do this, so now it's time.
Updates will be coming in a week or two.

Assuming that this works, and I have no reason to believe it would not, that would mean that wood, including plywood could be completely coated, and could be used in places not normally used with plywood.
Some of the earlier tests I posted, showed how strong it was when used as a "glue" of sorts with wood on wood, and wood on steel, as well as aluminum on wood.
So, tomorrow, I plan on finishing the cleaning of the steel, and getting 2 coats of Por 15 on it, and then, hopefully, the next day, weld it into place. Yee Haw!!!!11

The above plywood that is coated with Por 15, and soaking in water, has now been put into the freezer. We'll let that there for about a day, and then remove and thaw it out.
Just like the hair shampoo that says, lather, rinse, and repeat - we shall freeze, thaw, and repeat.
