Just made it home thanks again for all the info and ideas. I learn ALOT about the electrical system in a short amount of time. I'll update when I find out what exactly was wrong hoping this may help someone else in similar situation.

Did you ever figure out the problem??

Dropped it off at local dealership and they just pulled it in today so I'll update when they let me know. I wonder if inop alt is because of improper battery installation as Rickieblue stated.
