At the 1998 Daytona 500 Austin Dillon stood next Dale Earnhardt who drove the #3 Chevy to victory, today the #3 Chevy won the Daytona 500 with Austin Dillon driving ! BTW 2nd place was Darrell Wallace Jr in the #43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevy !

Watched stock car racing Daytona today for the first time in years (perhaps decades.)

What is "MENCS" that is listed in the driver's profiles?

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

After ‘Winston’ Cup and ‘Sprint’ Cup, the choice is to keep the NASCAR Cup Series and put the title sponsor name first.

Hope Dillon is proud of himself. Bumps Almirola (ok that happens) then ran right through him when he 'got loose'. Almirola showed class in his interview, but I believe Pop Pop's boy got one comin' his way. Note to NASCAR and Fox: The 3 is just another car without the old man wheeling it and he ain't been driving for 17 years. Time to move on....

The 500 is never a good race but it is always a great spectacle. Byron's spin made it even more so as it didn't look like anybody was going to risk jumping out of line to pass Blaney. As always the middle was B O R I N G except for the 3 laps right before a stage end.
By accident we found a better parking area south of the track and were able to jump right back on I4 back to the park with no delays. I'd rather walk an extra mile than sit in traffic for an hour getting out only to be directed to I95 the wrong direction. I understand that they are trying to move the most people out in the least amount of time so I will take one for the team when necessary.
The pic was about an hour before the green flag.

It's great to have such a big crowd on the first race. I'm such a big NON-fan of austin dillon.

I wonder how someone can refer to their religious beliefs right after doing on to others......

First time I watched in a few years.
Pretty good race, there was some racing going on.
Don't like the way it ended.
Dillon said Almirola would have done the same to him.
Apparently that justifies what he did.
Hope Almirola does do it to him when the opportunity arises.

Headline reads:
Austin Dillon wins the 2018 Daytona 500 with a last-lap pass on Aric Almirola

Should change that to last lap wreck of Aric Almirola

There were some pretty good commercials.

No RV at the moment.
Looking to hit the road in a year or two.

AMEN BROTHER!!! Can only surmise young Austin wishes to have it done unto him. Maybe Talledega in May?

The crapshoot nature of plate racing. A non factor in the race til the final lap. Spent most of his race mid-pack with Danica as his wingman til she crashed out, not of her own doing.
