NASCAR FOR SALE?

Media speculation to be sure, but plausible. Think the France family sees what we all have been saying in this thread, Big Bill's creation is about to hit the "fence". I wonder about the valuation numbers though with or without the tracks.

NASCAR for sale IMO does not connote a solution to the problem. The problem is inherent to NASCAR premier-class racing. Yes, there might be a buyer, but what would they do? Nobody has the "magic wand" that it would take in order to solve the major problem....IMO. IOW IMO buying NASCAR is akin to buying a liability. Just ask any billionaire out there.

I agree buying ain't improving. I found the story interesting because Brian France's name has been mentioned as potentially interested in buying the Carolina Panthers, as well as Bruton Smith and Felix Sabates. Of the 3, I believe Felix Sabates is the only one with an NFL caliber wallet.

Got a good deal from Daytona via email overnight. Tickets to Sat and Sunday race plus Fanzone admission for $199 each . We are going anyway and were prepared to spend more for just a Sunday ticket. The fanzone is always a great addition.
We have to change parks Friday so probably won't make the Sat race.

That is a good deal for all that. Enjoy!

Yeah, I know it's plate racing, but did the cars look like they were very ill handling in the draft? Saw a whole lot of juking around in the pack and for the most part no one touched anyone else; cars were just going around. And all that sparkin' and tail draggin' can't be helpful either. Never saw that before except when the race first begins and tire pressures are low.

Really? Isn't it obvious that given the mass of one of these cars, and then applying the laws of physics to this body in motion (at those speeds and around those turns),...obvious that there are no rule changes that would result in making these "missiles" maneuverable? The rules committee keeps doing the same thing over and over,.... and expecting different results. It just ain't going to happen. However, I personally don't feel like I'm being "played", due to the fact that I enjoy the total NASCAR package, not just the attempt to put on a "race".

The handling seems more treacherous than last year, especially the new Camaro body. Running up close to the back of a car has always loosened up the car in front, but not to the extent I witnessed last night where they just simply went around. The drivers have always seemed capable of reeling them in, but not so much last night

I predict 1/2 the field won’t make the end of the race.

I think that is a conservative estimate.
