At least there was a crowd to see the carnage.

I had better things to do, and it was about time I did them. IMO Talladega will never produce the type of racing that will be worth my time. The next time I watch NASCAR it will be on a track that's got a chance.

....and why is Talladega even in the Chase or Playoffs or whatever they call it now? At least Dale Jr. was still alive at the end so that should keep some of the heat off Nascar. "If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane." Arctic Fox 25Y GMC Duramax Blue Ox SwayPro ![]() |

I made the start of yesterdays race but after nothing but boring get in line and mostly in car camera engine noise looking at the back of another race car I did as Wrace suggested and ran the mute with CC on. Fell asleep. Woke up and made my jalapeno pico/chips and a diet coke.....found a football game and made more short naps.... life is good. I have to make a correction from my earlier post. Amy E. is in the pace car at Martinsville, not Talladega. No wonder I couldn't find any video. Sorry. Puma 30RKSS ![]() |

I think I'm going to miss Dale jr. when he is done driving. Yes, I know, he doesn't have the racing chops of his father, nor the win/championship record of other drivers. I find his commentary as a driver entertaining, and he seems like a down-to-earth, well grounded individual. I had hoped he was going to replace Kyle Petty or Jeff Burton for NBC, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Sounds like Dale jr is going to be a net addition to the NBC broadcast team. I don't find Kyle Petty or Jeff Burton all that tolerable, especially Kyle. The hipster pit reporter guy is annoying as well. At least he lost the man-bun thing he had going on. I think having somebody like John Force as a nascar pit reporter would prove entertaining. ![]() |

John Force would be entertaining describing drying paint. The guy cracks me up.

Talladega TV ratings up from last year though still historically lower. But it sure does appear NASCAR shot itself in the foot allowing the networks to move races to their cable networks from the broadcast channels. Dega and another recent race shown on NBC this year pulled better numbers than last year's airing on NBCSN. I'm guessing it's partly due to the fact NBCSN and FS 1 are often upper tier channels not part of basic programming packages with a lot of content distributors.
