A big round of applause for the Cup guys that took "a win and your in" and the points from the Xfinity guys. After all if you can't beat the cream of the crop you have no business in your own championship. [emoticon] [emoticon]

Too tough to tame? Yeah, but Denny Hamlin did it, BIG TIME!
The Finals will go down as the battle of the giants (the team owners). No doubt that all stops will be pulled.

I was hoping that the 78 could hang on, but Denny came from way back and deserved the win. Dale just needs to go home and spread the mayo. I hate to see him go out this way.
Erik Jones is on a roll isn't he? Wasn't so long ago he had to bring his hot Mom to an interview, now he is as polished as any of them.
Place looked packed. Good race as the strategies worked out. It was the first race in a long time that went green to the checkers.

Truex Jr's tire was the one thing that kept the finish from being REALLY exciting. Hamlin coming through the field 11 seconds back and Truex' Jr's lead to under a second with less than 4 laps.......Wow! Otherwise, the 'Track Too Tough To Tame' was reduced to looking like the standard issue 1.5 mile race. 8 cars on lead lap, a handful of lead changes among a handful of the usual suspects........

We get, we get it. For many years, maybe more, we've known what kind of auto-racing show that NASCAR produced to make their fortune. More show than racing....[emoticon]e
Thus the name,..."Follies". YOU would make a good OP..[emoticon]
BTW how 'bout that KYLE, coming in second just to let his team-mate enjoy some limelight....[emoticon][emoticon][emoticon]

Race stats speak for themselves Cloud. Fewest cars on lead lap since 1998. Before the cars became engineering marvels Darlington featured some often decent racing. Every finish can't be Craven/Kurt Busch's, but Truex doesn't cut a tire I think that finish would have saved the race from the debacle it was. But that's me....

So, how was Truex' cut tire different than any of the other cut tires? And, do you mean that Truex could've upped the quality of the show high enough to make the difference between thumbs up/thumbs down?

Both wins by Hamlin this last week end are encumbered due post race inspections

OK, so I'm nostalgic, but with Hamlin chugging through the field and Truex Jr nursing worn tires, I thought I was gonna be treated to another door bangin' 2 lap drag race to the finish, like Ricky Craven/Kurt Busch.Pretty sure that Hamlin would have closed on the 78 before the checkers, and equally certain the 78 would have hung it all out for the win, worn tires or not. Stupid flat tire........

I've never really liked Denny. Something about his attitude/ statements puts me off. But I was pulling for him Sunday after his mistake entering pit road.

Have to love the effort of any driver who makes a mistake, and guts it out to get back to where he was before.
