Air jacks? Other than the jackman, how will elimination of a single over the wall guy matter? What next, single lug nuts like F1 and IndyCar?

Hey Cloud, are knock-off hubs next?? As far as cost, you sound like a promoter. In a quick owners meeting at the starters stand before the last race of the season: Promoter: Hey boys, next season onboard jacks are required. They will save you money! Owners: Hey Mr. Promoter, show us where! Promoter: I'll get back to you on that two weeks before the season opener. Time to start the heats, time is running short since we have a curfew. |

I agree, there's no telling what NASCAR will come up with next. So, if I choose to "stay positive" I will either quit being a fan (quit watching their show), OR I will stick with them and enjoy their spectacle-type of entertainment (otherwise know as "follies"). GO KYLE BUSCH! I'll attempt to clarify something: Back in the 70's and 80's, I used my racing experience/knowledge PLUS my money to design/build my own racetrack. AND, before I built the racetrack, I announced that I would only be interested in promoting local, hobby-level racing. Therefore, the rules for the Formula Sprint class would be simple: with width limitation on the right rear wheel and the right rear tire, AND NO WINGS. I also, did not allow aluminum engine blocks. So, with plenty of time for everyone, who was interested, to decide if they were in, or out,...I went ahead with the racetrack project. In just a short time, I proved that by limiting the traction, the cost of fielding a winning sprint car was significantly reduced. It put the emphasis on chassis set-up and driving. Not only that, but the racing was great AND the stands were full. Also, Al Undser and Bobby Unser liked the concept so much that they sent their sons to come race with us. Yes, Al Unser Jr honed his Sprint Car talent at El Paso Speedway Park. Not only that, but AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti also liked this concept. So, please don't lump me in with promoters who allowed the cost of racing to escalate to the point where it really hurts. One of my favorite things about the night race at Bristol - the kids singing the National Anthem.

Old Rowdy certainly ran the table at Bristol.......again. At least Eric Jones made him work for it the last 55 laps. Even Kyle admitted as much. And both drivers really tossed caution to the wind in the closing laps. Both of 'em were on the edge of wrecking a couple of times. But again, try as NASCAR/SMS might, a couple dozen lead changes among 7 drivers. Don't think gunking up the track made that much of a difference...... |

One of the things that I like about NASCAR is that once they caught Brad Kaselowski and Joey Logano cheating (for the second time) neither of them have been as fast as my man Kyle Busch...![]() And, did you notice how fast Brian France learned how to fill the grandstands... ![]() Brian's a quick learner, it only took him one time to learn that replacing the 3-dimensional commitment cone with a 2-dimensional flat square is stupid.... ![]() GO KYLE BUSCH! |
