The Jayski Guide To NASCAR Monster Cup Silly Season Late congrats to 'Kid Larson'. I was all wrapped up in golf, didn't see the race. |

I know one thing, Mike Joy's 2/3 full and my 2/3 full at Michigan are two different things. And the 3 o'clock start?

From where I sit, the NASCAR races' front gate sales plus the rear gate sales are always high enough to make it work. It's the new norm, and will be the same for a long time. More power to them. Low ratings equal diminished return on investment via ad buys and rates charged for ads. Will Fox and NBC press to renegotiate their contracts? TV contracts are the mother's milk of NASCAR. |

I love how he ended the article Quote:
![]() Because the reality is that there is plenty of fun to be had in today's NASCAR world. You just aren't ever going to see it if the only place you ever look is in the rearview mirror. It kinda woke me up, and I've posted much shorter messages since. So, thank you for the link. I'll just take it as a compliment... ![]() |

Nice article, thanks. If I hit the lottery I will build a mansion in the infield of N Wilkesboro Speedway and arrive at my summer home by helicopter. I will leave the grandstands in place and let the old guy stay as long as he lives (if he is still alive). As I understand it the track was making a comeback for local stuff but promised supplemental local gov funding was reneged on so the lights went out again. We lived there before Merlefest was born, other than the lottery that would be the only reason for us to go back. We did drive Thunder Road one night when we really shouldn't have, that is in the top 5 of the dumbest things I've ever done. It's probably safer now but at the time no lights, no guardrails, no safer barriers, no nuthin. It was cool to see Junior Johnson in town acting just like a normal person. * This post was edited 06/22/17 07:18am by an administrator/moderator * |
