Danica's main problem is that when you run in the middle of the pack all of the time you get to all of the wrecks quicker than everybody else.
She has made some awesome escape moves over the years.

Danica's problem is she's famous for being famous, a la Kardashians and so many others fueling the shallow society of celebrity. Little accomplished, great PR.

Very true...
I say you take what "gifts" are given to you and you run with them.
Danica cashed in with her "gifts."

And by the way, Danica rose to the level of being a consistent mid-field finisher, IN the PREMIER category in the history of NASCAR. PLUS, she did the same in INDY CARS. She actually has accomplished something that MANY have FAILED trying to duplicate. What sets her apart IMO as that she looks purty dern good doing it. Fame and fortune, THAT'S what you call it....[emoticon]

GO KYLE BUSCH! Forget that it's Jimmie's house.
GO DANICA! A top 12 would be nice.

I prefer Dire Straits interpretation: Money for Nothin'.......

I'm inclined to give Danica a pass on this particular interview.

Big impact, big fire, rides to the infield care center with the 2nd of the three drivers involved and there is no word on the status of the third driver, has been in a number of wrecks this season.

Medical personal does their examination. Released from the care center and is not 4 steps out the door before the microphones are in her face. Yes I know, all the drivers have to deal with this as it's part of the game.

Her record aside, I can understand her frustration.

I read in That's Racin' on the Charlotte Oberver website, SHR and Nature's Bakery may have reached a settlement in their respective lawsuits. No details beyond that. Can safely figure if Danica has no big sponsorship beyond this season, the ride is likely over. As is, she was short 20 races of a full season when Nature's Bakery pulled the plug. My opinion, but she isn't a PR or marketer's dream especially after her and Go Daddy parted ways. She projects little charisma or personality in the Aspen Dental commercials, and her media interviews are like a broken record. All about the 'me' and nothin' but the 'me'. And her performance or lack thereof, is always someone's, anyone's fault but hers. She was resoundingly booed by the fans at Indy 7 years ago when she threw her entire team under the bus in a post practice interview that was broadcast through the track's PA system. Look at NASCAR, ESPN websites and others. I care not about her yoga, cookbook, or spandex sales. I wanna know about the racer, not the marketer. Same can be said for NASCAR's 'Most Popular' Driver.........

Yes, I think that ran its course several years ago, and the financial side of it is just now catching up in a big way.

She does need to get bigger sunglasses though.

Didn't watch the 'race' last night, NASCAR lost me with the 'green tire' thing. But based on what was written in several websites and newspapers, an all star egg was laid?

Has NASCAR finally run out of 'tricks' in its bag? Is the meeting Brian France is having with Monster executives this week a brainstorming session or a 'come to Jesus' event as in 'Hey NASCAR, what exactly are we getting for what we're paying?'. I read Monster doesn't even have a marketing department. How pray tell, does that benefit NASCAR in its quest to draw an audience back to the 'show'? Think it's gonna take more than NASCAR gimmicks and Victoria's Secret models to bring back the 'magic'..........if that's even possible.

The problem is simple: There's too many people who believe that it's within the power of NASCAR "to bring back the magic". Why not just face the fact that there is a new mormality? If what NASCAR is offering is too short of your expectations, then it's more a question of what YOU are going to do. We already know what NASCAR is going to do. And me, you know that I'm going to enjoy the NASCAR shows until there's no more. BTW I thought the Friday and Saturday shows where pretty good.....[emoticon]

For several years my solution was for Brian France to sell the franchise, take his money and run.
Now I fear it's too late. I doubt he could give it away - at least in its present form..

Noticed that Kyle was drinking NOS Energy Drink ....in the Monster Energy Drink victory lane...

But, Kyle sure schooled them all with that last restart and pass to snatch the clean air and the win.
