Back to the point. This is what the op is trying to get across. It is not (the builders) fault, it is the end user not knowing this could happen. This was my fault not knowing that this "could" happen. But had I known what to look for I wouldn't have made the mistake. I spent 80000 dollars buying 4 rvs from the same dealer and 2 from the same builder...did anyone back me up...NO, NADDA. they showed me the door...IT was my stupid mistake and the speaker company that made the faulty speakers. Will I ever buy there again? Will I ever buy another rv made buy X brand....NEVER again. But I can give you this...my mistake will help you to avoid this from happening and I'm not sure why there is so much resistance to being informed...OK fine.... speakers are a great idea why not put them on all 4 sides?? I try to write in some humor but some people just don't want the advice. BTW there is a thread covering this. But anyone who has one of these TC's now KNOWS what to do to avoid this from happening to them right?

Kevin, I appreciate your post on outdoor speakers and because of it I am using your suggestion for a fix. I will buy an inexpensive Bluetooth speaker for outdoors. Posts like the OP's are good to alert us to potential problems and possible fixes.
I still believe Adventurer should step up to the plate and pay to have the hole in the door fixed by a local body shop and maybe send out a letter to registered owners of this model, with a couple of white bumpers and explain how affix the bumpers to prevent this problem.

GeoBoy..thank you...thank you. I'm not throwing anyone under the bus but myself. Every one can benefit if you use the info objectively. A door skin cost next to nothing and it is an easy fix...the bad customer service is what really pinches a nerve with me...after 30 years in customer retail relations you can't tell me this customer is wrong here. I always made my customers happy no matter what it cost... period.

Quote: Of course, you could start another thread warning people about speakers.
But, I disagree that speakers are a bad idea. Obviously, the execution by your manufacturer was bad.
I noticed something interesting about the picture of the delam supposedly from the speaker. It appears that the delam started well above the speaker and in fact appears to be from a leak in the roof. And, the speaker just happened to be in the path of the leak and resultant delam. Maybe you could share the manufacturer as I know at least one of the brands of cabover that you have owned more than once. And that particular brand did have some delam issues in the early years of gelcoat mostly before model year 2005. Some delam came from clearance lights as well. But, you and I are not going to get away from clearance lights. The delam years for that particular manufacturer seems to be in the rear view mirror as their newer models are not prone to delam.

FWIW I have had nothing but great after the sale support from Adventurer, I sure would like to hear the other side of this story. OP, have you spoken to Brad directly?

Trust me the speaker was damaged...water can migrate and you know how? Pressure washer...yep my fault right?. Or it appears to be...now did I damage it at first? Who knows...once again defending myself. Back to the point, it is always the end users fault. Did I know it was an issue? NO because nobody warned me to look for it...regardless the damage was done and I took responsibility by fixing it with my own resources. Do you think the OP should fix this because the wind blew the door out of their hand? Dealer and builder seem to think so or at least the door still isn't fixed...yet. I'm out out steam...I hope the OP gets it fixed and we can move on...

I've had external speakers on my RVs since 1999 with absolutely no issues. but any additional holes in a RV are potential entry/danger spots. clearance lights on vehicles not requiring them by law are silly IMHO, such as on pickups.

Water often 'ponds' in the rear corners of a cabover. If that area is not sealed very well it can begin to leak and dry rot. Often it cannot drain properly due to caulk or trim pieces so the water just sits there until it starts to leak. I suspect that is what happened with your speaker issue as the leak clearly started above and behind the speaker. What I do is fill in that area in the rear corners with Dicor so that the water cannot pond there. It then is channeled into the gutters or just drains off the roof. I have had outside speakers since 2008 and no issues with delam. So, is it the speakers that were bad or the roof? My vote in your case is the roof.

I know..I know...OK one last bone. Here is the opposite corner replacement from a clearance light that was leaking and it did have other issues. The other side did not need to be repaired. This has been discussed in other threads. This thread is not about me it is about customer service. I will bow out now.
