Truck came in at 60 inches cab to axle. The bed I arranged to buy won't work. trlying to find another. I'm supposed to leave the 3rd on a trip. Not good.

Boy, that's tough to hear. You have everything researched and in place, then this. Your truck dealer must be in shock as well. Good luck with this

I see from this thread you initially ordered the 60" and changed it later with a call to the dealer. I assume the dealer dropped the ball? If so can they find you a comparable or better equipped truck already on a lot somewhere? 2022 Ram 3500 Laramie CTD DRW Crew 4x4 Aisin 4:10 Air ride. 2020 Grand Design Solitude 2930RL 2520 watts solar. 600ah lithium. Could you get a temporary tray fabricated for the base of the Host and some plastic wheel well covers so you can make your scheduled trip and deal with the details once you return? The edges would be 2x2" angle with some cross supports. A 3/4" piece of plywood with rubber mat would finish it off. This cradle would be bolted to the frame rails and some triangular shaped camper tie down points bolted off the frame could go to your turnbuckles. * This post was edited 02/27/18 03:35pm by Bedlam * Chevy Sonic 1.8-Honda Passport C70B-Host Mammoth 11.5-Interstate Car Carrier 20-Joyner SandViper 250-Kawasaki Concours ZG1000-Paros 8' flatbed-Pelican Decker DLX 8.75-Ram 5500 HD

This was a choice I had to make when I was faced with selling my 3500 and having only the C & C to deliver the camper to my truck bed outfitter. I actually passed on an offer to sell the GMC and kept both trucks for a couple months until it got closer to production. I had put a lot of thought into fabricating a temp. platform for an easier delivery but opted out. Man....to have a special ordered truck not right-that's not right. |
