OK.. Hoping you can help... We are currently towing a T1950 Sunline with a chevy avalanche. In the market for new Tow Vehicle... We are almost ready to close the deal on a F150.
Now we are getting concerned that the new F150's are too light... can you please help
Have been told by dealers that the V6 is plenty. it can pull 10K pounds, but now researching and seems like the 2016's may be "too light". ANY and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! We are thinking the V8 would be better ??

I would bet that in the very near future you will decide that the travel trailer you have now is too small. With that in mind you should opt for the tow vehicle capable of towing a larger, heavier travel trailer, or even a fifth wheel.

If you are trying to decide between the 3.5L turbo V6 Ecoboost and the 5L v8, most people would say the turbo V6 is a better tow engine as it has more low rpm torque and HP.
From what I can tell the T1950 Sunline is a very light weight trailer, and either engine and the F150 would be fine with it.
Perhaps even the low-end non-turbo V6 would work, but I'm not sure about that.

Always get bigger than what you need.
Didn't listen to my grandfather when we purchased our first truck and
now we are on our third and finally have more than what we need.

The F150 with ECO boost will be plenty truck to safely handle your trailer. Like mentioned above, put yourself ahead 2 or 3 years and make sure you have enough truck for whatever trailer you envision having then. Good rule of thumb is and trailer that potentially would weigh over 6500 lbs is better suited for a 250/2500 series truck.

F150 with max tow & max payload should work well.
Otherwise F350.

Not sure what you mean by too light. Do you mean actual weight of the truck, it's tow rating, or the power of the engine?
From what I've heard the Eco-boost makes more power and tows better than the V8. Either should tow that little trailer just fine.

A properly equipped F150 would be a fine TV. A poorly configured one will be marginal. Choose wisely.

WoW... comments / suggestions so far have been great. KD4UPL- I was thinking the actual weight of truck, they are now made from Aluminun and they say they are "light". Fla-gypsy what do you mean properly equipped / poorly configured?
