Just bought a 25' TT. First time owning a trailer. I plan to do a lot of grilling while camping but not sure what kind of grill I should buy. It can't be too big because storage is an issue. Do most people with this size of trailer just go with a small charcoal grill? That kind of seems like the easiest option for me.
If I do get a gas grill (and excuse me if this is a stupid question), can it be run off one of the two propane tanks that are currently connected to my trailer? Surely I don't need both tanks connected at the same time, so I could use one for the grill temporarily, or is that a terrible idea?

yes it is a terrible idea. you could have a quick connect installed to plug a grill in without disconnecting tanks.

Hose
Grill
I use this grill but still just use the small tanks for portability. But the hose link above wold work for a large tank.
I probably would not use the trailer tanks unless I had to. Buy another small tank or something. On my motorhome I have a connection for the grill if I need to use it.

I bought a small propane grill at Walmart and use a small propane tank, same height but smaller diameter than the usual 30 lb propane tanks. Both grill and tank are easy to store.

Whether you decide on cooking with propane or charcoal is a personal choice.
Personally, I think propane is fine for boiling water

We have a small charcoal grill. I have a hitch-mounted cargo carrier in which I have the grill, charcoal, grill tools and some fire logs, all contained in a canvas bag from HF (not COMPLETELY waterproof) and some small tarps with bunjies.
Some campgrounds limit what you can use and if you can plan ahead for each trip you may decide to take one or the other.

We use both the disposable cartridges or one of the propane tank on the trailer as needed. We normally place the grill on a portable table or campground table and place the propane tank nearby (within 10') using a 10' propane hose. We don't use the propane line they provided as we DO NOT LIKE HAVING THE GRILL ANYWHERE NEAR THE TRAILER.. For safety reasons, we just prefer not having a BBQ grill near the trailer.
To answer what brand BBQ we have, it is a Weber Q1000 which is small enough to store in the trailer compartment.

Well played. Charcoal it is. A bit more time consuming maybe, but easier in lots of other ways.

The Weber I use is great. It's black, sort of rectangular with a lid and works off the small screw on propane tanks. There are several sizes and mine was around $100. Only problem is that aren't tall enough to do something large like a chicken. Great for steaks, chops, pieces of chicken and I have done a small roast in foil.

The hitch mounted cargo carrier is a brilliant idea. I'm going to buy one of those and that way i won't have to worry about the grill being inside the trailer.
