I don't know why,but I just happened to look to see if there were any rallies in our area, only to discover that there was activity here. WoW,but it's great to hear from old friends again.
We've been out several times this year,Port Townsend a couple of times,Prosser and heading for Belfair state park the 31st. Also managed to get 5 nites at Fort Worden the last week in August. We're gonna have the GKs from Oceanside for most of the month of August, but mebbee we can plan a get together some time in September for an afternoon or mebbee an overnite.
Did a week with my Aunt Roma last month in Florence and I think she was trying to kill me. Dune buggies, light houses,Sea Lion Caves and shopping, plus trying to out do myself every night cooking dinner. Problem with that was that the first night,we got a couple of dozen oysters, some mushrooms and some nice lager beer and had a feast where I cooked the oysters several different ways and she said that it was the funest and best dinner she'd had in a long while. For her 91st birthday, she took us to Skamania lodge and we went zip-lining and had dinner there. It's coming up on her 92nd birthday Lsabor Day weekend and I don't know what she's got planned, but she says we're going to do something more fun. ooppss..

Glad to hear you are headed back David and Laura but sorry its due to job search. We just got back from a week up in Sequim, Stayed four nights a friends RV place and then 3 nights at John Wayne Marina and RV. New manager at John Wayne and she is a great lady to work with. We will hit Mt Angel in September for Oktober Fest and then down the Oregon Coast...Lots of work to do on the RV between now and then.

We're glad you're coming back, too, David and Laura.

We spent a week in Central Oregon the end of June. You can check it out on our blog if you're interested. Week from tomorrow we're heading up to Deception Pass for a family vacation. I'm so busy at work that I'm going to be heading to the coffee shop to work while everyone else heads to the beach. Oh well. Then in mid-August we're heading to Kennewick for two weeks. We'll stay at Columbia Sun RV Resort. It's a new park in the area. Looks to be really nice. Nikki's mom moved into a retirement home (not assisted living) first of July and Nikki and her are going to play.

We might make one more outing in September before heading for Arizona the end of October for four months. That outing might be to get a Direct satellite dish installed.

David,

Sorry to hear about the job loss, but the humidity here isn't as bad as in Florida!!

We are currently in Pacific City Oregon at Cape Kawanda RV Park taking in Pacific City Dory Days. What a great time, watching them launch their fishing dories into the surf right off the beach and then blasting in to land them as high up on the beach as they can get them to load back up on their trailers. I have some great pictures of them on my hot link for pictures. They also had a FRESH cod fish fry and they were the best fried fish we have ever had. Could get used to that. Also had some great claim chowder in several of the restaurants in town.

Monday we will be working our way over to St. Marie Idaho to meet up with daughter and family to do some garnet mining there.

This is our last trip in the motor home. Our mechanic is buying the rig from us when we get back at the end of the month. We just haven't been using it the way we thought we would since we bought a house in Sun City for the winters.

Will still try to follow the discussions and keep up with everyone. Just remember, you all have a standing invitation to visit us there in SC Arizona. The guest room is on the lake side of the house!

My neck cancer sems to be gone for good,at least that's what the dr said at my 6 month check. I do,however, have to have a couple of places looked at on my ear and the back of my hand. They found the cancer when they took out a large growth from behind my ear which was benign, but the litle guys, squemish cells (sp?), they found swimming around in my glands weren't. Six weeks of radiation 5 days a week wasn't too bad,but losing my taste buds and the saliva gland on the right side were. The taste is back and about 1/2 of the salivary gland are back. I've had several bouts with thrush in my mouth, now I know why babies hate diaper rash so much, and now I'm going to a therapist to get rid of a little condition called lymphedema and that's where the stuff from your lymph nodes doesn't drain right because of the scar from where they took out the growth.Man,she's good and it's all covered.
Much more and I may have to change my name to Bob.

Jon, what has this done to your wine tasting ability? I'm sure glad our medical issues didn't keep going on the same parallel road! I'm on the orthopedic road, not the cancer road, thank goodness. Tomorrow is an appointment with the knee specialist to see if it is time to replace it. Good to hear your reports are positive--keep us posted.

As long as I don't have any thrush, yeast infection,in my mouth,I'm great on any tasting. Have been to three major beer festivals this summer and we spent 4 days at Prosser at the rv park where the rally was s'posed to be and they had to pour us out of Apex one evening and Coyote the next. Wowser.

Monday the ole MH goes into the shop for some work I do not want to do and then we start loading up. We are five weeks from going down to the Oktober Fest in Mt Angel, Oregon and then we head out for our home in Yuma. Its been great up here in the NW but I want to be out before the rains start. Hoping that next year we might try and get together again, maybe not a rallye that takes someones time and money but just a get together to have a few drinks and visit. Everyone makes their own reservations and no activities planned just a nice visit. Think about it.....If we have the interest it might be a thing to do...

Okay... back to the top for this baby..Looks as if we'really gonna get together again,it's gonna be at a KOA somewhere with yurts or camping cabins for those homeless amongst us.
Let's also plan on coffee soon somewhere soon, possibly in Fife and folks can go shopping at the big folks store.
