themotoviking yes the Cruise America 28A I have has internal cable ready wiring. All I have to do is connect it to the cable service that is provided at many of the campgrounds. Sometimes it is free and sometimes it is a little extra at the campsites. But you have to provide the cable between the rig and the post where the service is provided. My 28A also has all the tail lights and running lights are LEDs. Even some of the inside lights are LEDs. They set them up so renters will not be pulled over for light being out I guess. And yes CA2 8A if that is what I put down stands for Cruise America Four Winds 28 foot Motorhome and the brand name from Cruise America after refurbishing and repainting and striping is Majestic.

Hi everyone... I came across some youtube videos of young couple looking for RV to live fulltime and they rented a Cruise America 28Ato test. They made a series of 4 or 5 videos on a review of their experiences and review of the RV. If you are on this thread interested the videos you might find interesting

Look for themorewexplore on youtube and look for the rental playlist

Here is the LINK

They also have some videos on their RV search.. but I found their CA experience very interesting

Thanks for posting that link and video. The fellow had a problem with the connection of the drain valves coming unconnected from the black water tank. First very bad service from what ever CA place he got the unit from. I don't know this for sure, but I think they have that connection like that so that the assembly can be easily removed to make sure the tank is clean for the next renter. With a big opening like that to the tank, they can get up in there and clean it very well. Just a guess by me. I went out today and looked at mine and that same connection is there but it is glued in place and is not going to come off. Curiously though the hose clam is still there but not doing anything at all. The assembly on these couches is poor in my opinion in that they hang way down with no protection when folks go over things like speed humps in parking lots. I put extra braces on mine and pulled it up a little into the body of the unit keeping it somewhat away from the ground. The video was very interesting and I think pretty honest, but if the fellow thinks getting a bus conversion with a diesel engine is going to be easier, I got a bridge for him to buy. And nobody should be allowed to go out in any RV without at least a small set of tools. Trying to fix that problem the guy had with a multi function tool like he had was pretty scary. Also bad service to the nice couple by CA for not getting help to them when they needed it. BOOOO on them.

Funny, we just watched those videos last weekend. Pretty honest I think. As for the call to CA for the pipe. since we did not hear the call we wont know for sure what happened. He may have explained it in a way he fixed it that sounded like it was fixed period... who knows.

when ever we go out camping I always have enough tools with. Last trip to Utah the steering gearbox came loose from the frame and I had to replace a brake line on our Suburban. Was able to get gearbox up and tight enough and then hobbled it to Blanding 60 miles away and did all the repairs in the parking lot of the ACE Hardware store.

X2... Exactly easier to clean tank out.

Friends with someone that used to work at CA Corp. He had a lot of interesting and funny stories of what renters did or didn't do. One of his many stories was when a black tank would get plugged up.

Hose clamps makes it easy to remove pipe and also makes it a lot easier to remove (diapers, trash and etc) and to get a pressure washer wand inside and clean off probes to get tank monitor working again.

His best story was a renter turned in a unit, paid or forfeited the "cleaning fee" because it was a mess. Hours later when an employee goes to clean the unit, he takes one look and goes to get his boss. Looked like a murder scene. His boss takes a look and decided to call police. Police show up and take a look. They also thought they had an actual murder scene. Policeman calls his police sergeant. Police sergeant shows up on scene...long story short

It was a murder scene alright, but fake. Used RV when making a movie.

Yeah I made mental note to check the piping when we rent or buy. I was surprised as noted that piping hanging the way it was without supports

We will rent from Cruise America to try to test if its doable for us (less me more Mrs Boxing) and if thumbs up then buy.

I was wondering about their hot water issue and hot water heater? Anybody can advise here?

We are renting first before buying as well to see if RVing is even our thing. I can only hope I dont pull a Robin Williams when it comes time to dump.

Don't know about anybody else but when my HW hasn't been working for sometime I have to give it more than one shot before it will start on older Cruise and also on 2013 Arctic Fox. I did have to adjust burner tube HWH on the Cruise after we got it. (simple one screw to play with, plenty of vid's about it) Also if you ever run out of propane, once you re-fill propane again it takes awhile for new propane to make its way to HWH and stove and heater to displace air in the line for the igniter to have something to ignite.

IMO... one thing that most people don't plan after they buy one is all the other stuff. I'll post a list of what we bought after buying the RV to make our trips more enjoyable. Will post when I get it typed up, with in a week I promise.
