Hi, new member here. I bought a 2000 Nomad 261 Lite TT and am looking to replace a broken bracket for the front window stone guard. Anyone know where I might find such a thing? Thanks!

Not that I know of. You could start one yourself.

I know this post is a really older one, but I just bought a 1981 layton by skyline bunkhouse travel trailer, I think it's about 23 or 24 feet long, my God, I couldn't believe how this trailer still looks really good for its age, the previous owner replaced a bunch of stuff, newer toilet, newer ac unit on the roof, newer copper pipes through out the trailer, when you walk inside it looks like the camper was barely even used at all, I hope there is somewhere that owners of skyline trailers have a group somewhere or would love to chat

Brand new proud parents of a 2014 Skyline Nomad 188B. As it is just my SO and myself and our puppo, it was everything we wanted in as small a package as we could find. And the season ending clearance discount which knocked the price down 38% helped make our decision!
Unfortunately, winter is already right around the corner up here. So we won't get a chance to experience our new TT for a few months. But after reading this thread, I am positive we made the right choice!

I just purchased a 1970 Nomad, 19 or 20 foot... Working on getting my replacement title so I can be legal. These forums have been helpful so far. Just tough to find the right niche since the TT is old as dirt but "not quite vintage".
I may have made a mistake in the purchase, because I see a LOT of work in my future, but it was dirt cheap, so I'm just going to roll with it.
So far, I've discovered a rusty fresh water tank, some severed plumbing lines, and a totally rigged up 12v system. However, my kids are over the moon about the camper.

Mine is 2001 Skyline Nomad. 13 years old and she's just now starting to need some maintenance. This TT has been awesome!

As much as I'd like a Skyline forum, I don't think we need one. Most TT problems and solutions transcend brands and manufacturers (Skyline has like a dozen brands all selling the same models). If we just stuck to a Skyline only forum, we'd miss many ideas, and certainly many fixes, as they seem to be one of the most reliable and better built of the mid-priced units. We'd just have fewer problems to complain about.
I also asked the factory for drawings for the rear wall to install a ladder, and they sent me the entire drawing package. You cannot beat that. They also responded to my email about a wiring problem I told them about. So that shows that we don't lack factory support.
If / when I ever upgrade to a newer or larger unit, I will definitely look for skyline first. My travel trailer owning friends all have skylines, and we didn't plan it that way.
I have made a lot of changes but not because of problems, but because the investment in the upgrades were worthy of this trailer and a tribute to it's overall quality.
My only peeves are the undersized (to my specs) 12V main battery cables, and all the sawdust and shavings behind the panels you never see until you take something apart.
A few Hmmm... why did they do that questions, (like putting the water heater at the back of the coach 10 ft away from the shower when it fit perfectly in the bathroom cabinet space you couldn't access easily anyway, (It's there now) and why does the back wall have fiberglass insulation instead of the solid foam like the side walls. (I cut a 4' x 4' hole in it to add a big cargo door.)
Why is the furnace on the curb side when it should be on the other side so it's exhaust isn't under the awning next to the door that should open the other way so it does not hit the awning...

1996 Skyline Aljo 2440 here. I love the trailer and I have been impressed with how well it has held up, despite the previous owner's best efforts to let it rot away.

Just brought home our 2012 Layton Joey 196. Looked and looked for the right trailer and instantly fell in love with workmanship and quality of materials. Looking forward to camping out as soon as the rains stop. Love to hear from other owners. Clajac
