Installed a piezoelectric igniter and got rid of the old turn to light noise maker. Bought the unit from Walmart for $13, add one $2.99 switch from radio shack and about 3hrs labor. Now I have quiet push button ignition for my stovetop burners and my oven. Before we had to get on our hands and knees, holding the oven knob in while applying flame to the pilot light.
Got the idea from here: Stove Igniter MOD

Wow thats a great mod-not much more than a decent butane lighter to reach the silly oven pilot. That ones on the list!

DH just installed a new LED motion sensor porch light. It's awesome! It'll be so helpful when we're coming back to the campsite from the lake. We got the clear lens instead of the amber.

We won't keep it on all night just in case you might be our neighbors and were worried.[emoticon]

What is the reason they do not build any type igniter in the ovens? To keep you from blowing the doors off when there is a gas build up?

Couldnt say, we dont use the striker for the stove, use an extended reach flexible lighter to light burners (and oven), So this would be nice. We do and would have door open to light-no other way to verify pilot takes, even with electric start. The SST mirror would be good idea. No different than using lighter-still need to look in there to know its lit. Not sure what the assumption is. Still a manually lit pilot, just using an electric spark vs a lighter at arms length. If you look at refernced thread other folks have commented on this.

Replaced our odd bathroom medicen cabinet. Actually bought one to put out side for my new outside servive sink. (It was mandated I was to NEVER again use kitchen sink for washing parts etc when SHE got her new kitchen sink) So picked up a cabinet for my boraxo, orange goop etc. When getting ready to hang occurred to me its a lot nicer and bigger cab than whats in camper. Its also square where the campers is a wedge shape, only an inch deep on one side. So I swapped them. new on the right

Worked out nice-the factory cab you had to lean over the toilet and sidways to see in mirror. Always thought bizzare the size and shape and how it was mounted, pain to use. New one I mounted at angle in corner-its a larger box and deeper- nice. Can actually stand over sink and see in mirror. Did add some shelf rails to it-(details on our home page

Installing the old one outside also worked well as its smaller and wedge shape allowed putting to side.

I got the camper bug and drove from Whittier to Red Bluff and turn around and came home the next day about a 12 hour drive... Now I need to figure out how to get everything all fixed up wiring ect... So the fun begins.....

I heard some clunking from the drivers side front of the truck on bumps. Lower bolt on the Rancho was a hair loose and let the shock eye hit the frame mount. I tightened that up right quick. Changed the oil and topped off the power steering fluid. I'm going to dump and flush the fresh water tank in a few minutes, have to remember to go get the propane tanks filled. We leave in 10 days for the USDF Region 7 Dressage Championships at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Staying at the Facility in the TC for a week.

You will be 5 minutes from our Burbank house! Maybe we can meet up for a meal or? Let me know when you are down here, and safe travels! [emoticon]

Cost savings I am sure. IMHO the electronic lighter is much safer, generating multiple sparks per second compared to the one with the manual turn to light striker. I still have to hold in the oven knob to light the pilot lght, now I just have to hold down a button with it instead of sticking my arm and half my head in the oven.
