Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Dan,
I think you will love the Mach 8. I installed ours myself after much research. It starts and runs perfectly with the Honda Eu2000 Inverter Generator.

Picked it up with a new Coleman Mach 8 Cub installed.

I didn't lift the shroud to verify and it was hard to see behind the white shroud in full sun, but it appears Coleman/Airxcel has replaced the noisy 6 bladed fan with the quieter 3 blade at the factory. Outside I could just barely hear the fan with the genny running. The Eu2000 powered the Cub just fine in eco mode BTW. I turned it on as soon as I parked the rig, then by the time I had pulled the truck out from under the camper and lowered it I stepped inside and it was my kind of cool. Granted it was only in the mid 80's outside but I still had more thermostat to go. Speaking of which. The controls couldn't have been better placed to get to from bed.

Gary, you were right! I did give self install serious consideration. I'm not sure which part of the job would've been worse. Removing the old roof vent, knowing the way Northstar likes to keep joints well sealed, or manhandling the AC not only while on the roof but getting it up there. Frankly I'm just not as young as I used to be so I figured I'd spend some money in my local community on this one. No regerts. [emoticon]

Next project, install the Renogy solar panels.

Tore out the plywood on the floor to solve the mystery of the over flexing floor.

The reason? Floor is made up of 2x2s that run the full length of the floor, with only one set of 2x4 pieces near the front poorly installed to stiffen it.

Had to buy two new propane tanks as the old ones were out of date. Two weeks ago I had to do the same thing for my 5th wheel si it has been an expensive month.

Glued in first two 2x6s that go into the floor and front wall to support the new 41 gallon fresh water tank, replacing the extremely under framed floor structure.

should have done a tank swap at blue rhino instead of buying new ones

Added a wire to my upfitter switch so that I can turn my backup camera on at will, not just in reverse.

1. Changed the seal in the Sealand 210. Not too bad of a job. DW cleaned it though after I pulled the top half.
2. Added a baffle for fridge out of sheet aluminum and pulled off the tape that had been preventing the blow out. I'm will tell if the baffle is big enough, but I think so.
3. Replaced the empty disposable LP bottle for my grill. (I carry two.)

Move mine to my camp after a flood took away my permanent trailer.
