Ordered a new memory foam mattress. Should be here in time for our trip to Prosser, WA for the Spring Barrel Tasting at the end of the month.

I put together this sun/rain shade for mine. It's already hitting over 90 degrees in So Cal. Cost me $200 * This post was last edited 04/15/15 07:46am by spyder152 * 1998 Fleetwood Caribou 11M on a 1997 F350 7.3L Crewcab

So at 130,000 miles we ordered a new one and had it installed. I got it from these guys http://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/re-manufacturing Looking at the cramped space where it is located I am so glad I opted not to DYI. The shop mgr said he could hear the mechanic cursing my truck during the removal and install. Haven't driven it with the TC on yet but unloaded it was night and day, so much better ![]() ![]() Buzzcut, I did the exact same on my F350. I've been super impressed with the Red head steering gear. One other thing. Look at your front ball joins. I replaced those at the same time as the steering gear and the improvement was just unbelievable. Cheers Way ahead of you, Already did the upper and lower ball joints, new steering stabilzer and new tie rods & bushing, and sway bars. This was just the last piece. update. Ruth just called from I5 in Stocton , she is driving the truck with the Lance and the three horse trailer with two horses on board. They went over the seriously rough Altamont Pass section of 580 in gusty winds. She said it handled like a dream going down grade in tow haul at 50 mph. I would call that sucess. 2011 F350 6.7L Diesel 4x4 CrewCab longbed Dually, 2019 Lance 1062, Torqlift Talons, Fast Guns, upper and lower Stable Loads, Super Hitch, 48" Super Truss, Airlift loadlifter 5000 extreme airbags

Not really the camper, but the truck (I lost the "what did you do to your TRUCK today" thread). And not today, but 10 years ago when I married the right man! He installed the new Firestone Airbags I thrust upon him. Of course it cost me...in many ways!! I had to get him a new air compressor (the old one died) and some kind of wrenchy thing to get it done. Also some serious butt kissing and head patting. Packing up and heading out to AL on our first trip of the season this Sunday! Removed my single group 24 battery (NAPA RV/Marine) and installed new pair of 6v golf cart batteries (Duracell Ultra's). It was a little tricky making the connections in the box, but 3 times the AH made it all worth while.

Not just today, but for the weekend. Setup a basic tuner for the truck. Hopefully, I'll get a bit better mileage. De-winterized. Helped wife added reflectix under the mattress and wife did most inside compartments and cut pieces for the windows. Lubricated the antenna, but I think I'll add more tomorrow. Today, replaced about 95 ft of trim insert with super thick trim. That covers all of the edges. On the plus side, I replaced with much heavier insert. However, that meant that it was a longer job than expected since it was really stiff! In case you do it, do use a screen replacement tool. It's a little strange to get used to, but it will save your fingers. I tried it again after blistering my thumb and forefingers on each hand and still had 70 % to go. I should have tried longer to use the screen replacement tool. In case you are wondering my camper has trim along the outside edge all around the top. Still to do, add the caulking on the ends.
