Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: WVbassmistress on 03/30/15 08:18am

Sewed some new covers for the throw pillows to match my new valance that runs all the way around the top. Clean out and did inventory for next week's trip. Repack the silverware I had scavenged for a big family dinner Washed all the linens to get rid of the winter. Took some pictures of the inside hoping to sell it quickly when we return.
Last week ordered the SuperHitch and 24 inch extension we will need for whatever new camper we get.

Having new dinette cushions done (that ain't cheap) Painted the inside last week. A couple more tweaks and it will be ready for 1/2 timing.

Just did the same (Agree completely!!)

Year before last we had a very rare and very cold snap here in Western WA. I had not winterized. Last summer we just ignored the drip except to determine it was in the gray water system which we just didn't use and don't use much since most of our cooking and cleanup we do outside. Today I dug in and found a 6" crack in the pipe between the gray tank and the valve. Looks like a pretty easy fix, just cut and pulled out the whole assembly and will be splicing a length of new pipe to replace the old. Won't be putting off winterizing again no matter that it never gets cold here in early October.

Finally installed a dedicated 30A RV outlet for the camper. Can now run the converter, refrigerator and AC all at the same time. Best thing....no more extension cord running out of the garage :-)

Ordered a Progressive Dynamics PD4045 converter to replace the Centurion in my 1998 Palomino Bronco. Now my batteries will see a true 14.4 volts and I won't have to use the Black and Decker charger anymore!

I received the XANTREX Prowatt SW1000 Sine Wave inverter today. Ordered it yesterday from Northern Marine Electronics in NJ....A whole 24 hours! What took them so long to get it to me!
This thing is a beast. Much heavier and bigger than I thought it would be. Looks VERY well made. Happy Camper!

I installed a Tornado Rinser System on the black tank today. I tested it before installing it in the tank and decided I wanted a little more water flow. So I used a 1/16 drill bit and opened up all of the holes on the tip the results were exactly what I expected as far as increased water flow.

The install was simple and I already had all the needed tools, the tank access was easy enough on my camper.
No more dragging a hose into the bathroom to flush out the tank; that was always the worst job of maintaining my camper.

We loaded it on to the truck in preparation for a trip down to my BIL's this weekend. We haven't de-winterized it yet because it is drops below freezing every night. I hope spring gets here soon!

Smiled and waved at it. It has mostly emerged from the snowfield.

De-winterized (must be a word, doesn't show misspelled [emoticon] ) it, vacuumed and cleaned, sterilized water system again with bleach. Charged batteries, and just felt good out there tinkering with the nice weather today.

Last week loaded it on truck after finally getting my upper StableLoads installed. Whew! Glad that is all done. Had tons of trouble getting one of the factory pads off.

It's raring to go and I think I am too. Hopefully heading out to various parts really soon.
