Put 320w of Solar on the roof...thanks Mellow Mike for all of the help and your write-ups.

Before I saw your signature line, I knew that was the roof of an AF.

I put my solar in the same spot on my AF811. Well, I had AM Solar do it for me.

Thanks for putting up that pic...I had always had plans to squeeze some panels onto of the cab over since it seemed like a perfect spot. Your picture actually confirmed it for me, when I saw that pic on another forum it solidified my panel placement plan.

You forgot never eat the last 2 bites of your sandwich and if it won't move throw a pump in it.

Lowered the Atwood jacks on my 1161 TC using the remote, that didn't work out so well. Went manual mode, removed Torklift basic turnbuckles, & cabover struts. The Atwood jacks would not move the camper up being fully extended. I guess because of the 6 inch lift I have on the truck. I have two or three options. Option 1: I have a friend who could make a 30 inch tall support stand for $500 USD (4) total. Option 2: Use the Camco 57371 Olympian Telescopic Jack (4) is designed to support 6,000 lbs, with a 7 inch plate on top centered over jack & under the jack pad. A base plate under the jack stand. Option 3 (just kidding) everything removed such as turnbuckles cabover struts, electrics unplugged. Jacks extended almost full length. Put truck in reverse step on gas, hit the brakes and hope for the best. Last resort. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There may be a couple options;
1. Can the jacks be lowered in their brackets on the camper so they are closer to the ground? Perhaps an extension bracket to mount the jacks in a lower position on the camper.

2. get a couple rail road ties, lay them on the ground and lower the jacks to the ties. for more stability, lag bolt a cross beam 2x4 across the back of the two railroad ties, forming a U shape you back up to and lower the jacks on. The cross beam keeps the railroad ties from shifting.

If on a dirt area, dig a couple trenches for your tires so the jacks are closer to the ground, unload, then drive up and out of the trenches.

I live in a desert type environment, unfortunately I have an approimxate 20 degree slope on the left side of the truck & TC. I like your suggestion.

I reinstalled the repaired Happijac motor on one jack and plugged the shore power in to top up the batteries.

I had a motor repaired also at a Starter and Alternator repair shop. He took it apart, cleaned it, sealed it, and it was working again

I repaired the Happijac card. The grounding point came loose and I took it to a TV shop repair. They resolded the joint by buffing the card to the copper and made a much bigger and tough solder.

Last Monday on my way home from being gone for two months travelling the country in my TC with the DW, I stopped in a town to have the aluminum bumper on my camper welded since the original weld from the factory broke and was causing the bumper to sag when entering and exiting the camper. The guys at the welding shop noticed that there was another weld that was about to break and they did a great job welding both breaks and the bumper is rock solid now.
