Posted By: Wanderin fool on 11/03/13 04:53pm

Alas,,, put it up for the winter, but will still sleep in it occasionally pretending Im camping. Anyone else do this, or did I just make a really stupid admission!? [emoticon]

I went to storage today and loaded the camper for our trip to the coast next weekend. I'd like to get a Thanksgiving weekend trip in as well before putting it away.

The truck didn't start, so I searched the web in a panic. Turned out that there was a blown fuse under the hood. Replaced the fuse, started it and took the truck to its winter storage.

Took it to the dealer to have the fridge looked at, it doesn't want to stay lit on LP.

Well, not exactly today, but the couple weeks:

Added a Ranch Hand grille guard (we're a deer & moose magnet)

& installed a custom front 2" receiver (didn't want to permanently install a winch)

& getting ready for ski season, (camping overnight in parking lots to be 1st in line on those Utah powder days & taking early p.m. naps), got a hitch-mounted, swing out ski rack (the Ms. said "no way" to hauling ski's around on the floor).

GGGRRR!!! Well I checked all the air pressure in the new tires I had installed only 90 miles ago in prep for a quick overnight local getaway. Inside dual totally showed 5 psi. when I tried to air up I heard the hiss of air coming from inside. Trip cancelled. At least it wasn't the tire itself. It was the inner dual valve extender and it had been sliced almost clear through. When? I don't know as I haven't driven it since July and it was "fine" then.. Maybe on the way home. In any event, it's truck is under the RV port and I have to replace the valve extenders (or leave them off completely.) In 21 years of driving dually trucks with valve extenders this is the first time I've ever had an issue, so I guess it was my turn!

Started prepping to head to the Sierras next weekend. aside for loading up my toys I decided it was a good time to refresh my chain up skills and try out my new chain set. This took me less that 5 minutes from start to finish and they are by far the easiiest set of chains I have ever installed. Purchased from Les Schwab Tires
