Well, we survived round one. Had over 4" rain, golf ball sized hail and a deep river under the RV and toad, with water up to the bottom of both the RV and toad. Lost our 2 porch platforms, rugs, boot scraper, pallets we had laid out to keep our electrical lines out of the water, etc. Our road is washed out and Pioneer is calling out the dirt boys to haul in rock to fill in the gaping holes at the new culvert they just installed. All of this in less than 60 minutes. They say the worst is to come tonight, wonderful.

We had a funnel cloud almost touch down between us and the rig. It was right next to a tornado. Formed right where it was supposed to in the wall cloud...textbook! I told DW to get ready because we were about to beat cheeks! It just never quite formed...wasn't quite "organized" enough.
What followed was straight line winds that almost tore the top off of our motor home. It literally is held by Eternabond. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance. Calling insurance company and trying to figure out what to do at this point. I doesn't appear to be leaking inside, but I promise you it's leaking down the wall.
Ripped the seam from stem to stern all except what was Eternabonded. Funny now...not so much earlier.
Then round two...another wall cloud not 20 minutes later tracked exactly the same path as the first, but it was far too disorganized. Even attracted the attention of a storm spotter who stopped at the gate to watch it.
At this point we're thinking we might as well stay put until the adjuster makes it out in a couple of days.
Stay safe everyone!!

I went to SA this morning at 5 am and headed back about noon...on I-35 to Dilley...Moore was getting MORE RAIN and HARD...then Pearsall got heavy rain with it coming down hard all the time but harder there. When I got to Dilley, the NEW Super 8 that opened today had the ground floor flooded and cars water bound. Road with water over it and when I tried to go out on 117 toward Batesville and got to my dirt turnoff the road had a "river" running over it and about 3' of water. 4X4's and semi trucks were plowing through and about that time they were giving tornado warnings for Witsett (Sp) and NE then Hess man told me a couple of trailers had been blown over and about 30' from where they were. Not sure where that was but think to the SW of Dilley. My wife was on the gate and we had 5++ inches of rain today! That is on top of the 2" we had the other day.
I had to catch a ride to the gate with a tanker...left car in town. Big BIG Thunder heads off to the SE and those to the South are now gone. Still think we will get more tonight. Will button the hatches. My Dish for TV went down but I set it up and WALA we had a picture!!!! Surprised me.
So we are safe up to this point and I did get the car brakes fixed...so was a good trip...wife just had a bad day.

OK, how did everyone make it yesterday and through the night... ...Don, have not heard from you, did you come through OK.. They brought in the dirt crew last night to put our road back in temporarily and today they are working on doing the drainage the proper way and adding large rock to the road to stop a repeat washout.

Well we came through the nite. We never got a drop of rain after about 5 yesterday afternoon. We did see a lot of ominous clouds and a lot of lightening all around us but we got nothing more. Our road out is a mess.

Wow...last 2 nights very busy. No action from our location but have water trucks running all night taking water to another location, don't quite seem fair if our location is not running all night for another location to keep us up. All part of the gate guard life, at least most of the time we get to sleep all night.

CC Forbes rework crew is in. Say they will be done by Tuesday. The crew leader just stopped by and said they were catering a rib eye steak lunch tomorrow so we need to hold off on eating they are sending us a couple platters. Last week they catered a porkchop dinner. There goes my diet again.

Communication is of course very important when your out in the middle of no where,
We just learned today that one of Loma's top management individual, Ken Robison, had part ways with Loma several weeks ago. No announcement from the company nor any direction as to who to contact regarding problems that Ken always solved for us.
