Steve, that is the current rig, but we don't fulltime, nor gate guard anymore. When we did we had a 39' Teton and FL60, and yes, it was plenty of room [emoticon]

If it was just one of us, we both agree that we could fulltime in our camper. With 2, it is a bit tight, tho with modifications to the table area, it would be much more comfortable.

Bob...it is 25* and snowing. We will head to Cascade this afternoon for the Cinco de Mayo event at the Legion, where I will be cooking and Terry does dishes. Will get a pic if there is any white stuff down there [emoticon]

The one on top is not a rattler. It's kinda hard to tell from the pic, but it looks to be a bull snake.

Summer has arrived in Dilley, TX...I think it is supposed to stay for atleast for 3 more days!!! [emoticon] Glad I do not have to buy our water...must drink a case every two days. Hot showers without the
use of propane even makes the job overhead less. Glad I have a washer and dryer in the 14' trailer as that cuts down on the laundromat and more sweat and dirty times.

What a life this is...but if we do this next year...I will have a roof AC on my trailer the 14' one!!! When we get back to SD and 50 degree nights and 80 degree days (high humidity, though) we will be COLD!!! [emoticon]

I stand corrected that one is not a rattler. The other one however is.
I just read what I put down, sorry didn't mean both were rattlers.
Also seen a indigo but didn't get a picture of him.

Had a construction guy stop by the gate a couple of days ago with a 2 foot rattlesnake in his toolbox. He said he was taking it to Freer to sell it. Apparently, according to him, they buy them for rattlesnake roundups. According to him they give a thousand dollars for 6 footers. I'm not so sure I believe that. Kinda like paying for fleas or something.

My brother and I used to catch and sell rattlesnakes, to make money as kids. Now days they are worth a whole lot more than the 50¢ we got paid in the 50's. A good, well marked 6'+, will start at $400 and go up. Anything under 6' will sell by the pound and right now in our area, they are bringing $5±/lb. Several of the Mexican crew guys are catching them to supplement their income. We had a den on the site and Alonzo cleaned it out the other day.

I am supplementing my income with GGing and not sure that this would be another wise decision to catch and sell!!!

I have seen the program on TX Rattlesnake roundup or hunting and one segment was on a friend of mines ranch near Brackettville.

I just want to make a hat band and maybe a guitar strap...Not sure how to cure them though. Anyone with know how?

Soak the skin clean of all meat in anti frezze for one week and then
wipe clean with rag and stretch out on board and use pins or thumb tacks to hold in place and let dry then rub lightly with any type of oil and it should be workable I have cured many like this and the scales will hold on never rub against the scales. If you have acess to glacol it works good also

A mexican guy Gate Guarding on the next lane made mine. Said he skinned the snake, scraped the hide and salted and let set in the sun to dry. He done a very good job and I am sure if you could get over here one day he would show or tell you how, maybe even do it for you.[image]
